I really liked him.  He was my borderline #5 or #6 corner before he was injured.  He would have probably been a 3rd rounder before injury.  I don't know about the first round comment - that's a bit homer.

Quote:Great pick, Colvin was a projected second rounder before he tore his ACL. Stash him on PUP for a season and reap the benefits in 2015.

U must being watching Mike Mayock?lol

I was quoting Mike Mayock.   I have no idea, personally.
WTH?  Torn his ACL 3 months ago.    I wouldn't have gone with that choice.  Ability to stay healthy is paramount. He won't even be able to have full contact during training camp.

The future is looking better

5'11 177.  Guy tore ACL at Senior Bowl, but was shining in practice before the injury.  Some thought he was a 2nd round talent before the knee.  Latest word is that he is ahead of schedule in his rehab (aren't they all at draft time).  He'll go on PUP list to start season, not counting against roster, and then be a nice value and player when he does step back into live action.

Another steal pick. Caldwell is making this look easy.

He's not going to participate in training camp, he's going to be a medical redshirt and get stashed on PUP.

That's why he slipped that far in the draft.   At this point, it's an investment in the future.
Has a concussion history.

They must have really liked what they saw at the Senior Bowl.

I think they're rolling the dice here, expecting he may have some real upside that's worth the risk.

Otherwise, I would have liked Keith McGill here, but McGill's knock is that he doesn't play as big as he is.  Maybe they prefer Colvin because of the opposite.

In it for the longhaul.

I would have rather picked Pierre Dessir there
I definitely would have preferred Desir or McGill, but Colvin would have been my 3rd choice as far as corners.

Of course. He's much more the typical Bradley CB.

He's still on the board.

McGill's 25 years old already, I'm sure that hurts his stock some.

It's clear they are thinking 2015 and beyond.  2014 will hopefully be competitive on the field, but we'll still be picking top 10 next year I think.
He's already running. Will start season on PUP. He may play towards end of season. I like having Blackmon, Ball, Gratz, Harris, Harris, and McCray for now though!

Kiper and McShay were saying he was borderline 1st rounder/early 2nd rounder before injury as well.

How do you know this?

They've said that about 30 prospects drafted outside of the 1st already.  It's sensationalist hyperbole.  He would have been a higher draft pick, but 1st is probably out of the realm of possibility.  Sneaking into the 2nd?  Maybe.

Neither of them had Colvin in the 1st in their original mock drafts in January.
