Quote:I think we'd be fine with a new LG who can run block and a new RT who can run block. I'd also like some depth as well, but those can come in the late rounds.
Cam Robinson in the first  (RT right away, LT later after Beachum gone)

Dan Feeny in the 2nd (fills a G right away)
Quote:Not comfortable with Fournette at all. Between the injuries and being phased out by some of the better defenses in the country I am not completely sold on him at the next level.

I do think this could be an early smoke screen though. With Gurley and Gordon going high two years ago and Elliot on his way to having OROY of the year honors along with being in the MVP discussion the value of running back's are on the rise again.

If you think Dalvin Cook has the potential to be a Gurley, Gordon, Elliot or even Bell or David Johnson type runner. Take him and don't look back man. We have receivers. With the right coach and scheme, which we've seen under Hackett. They can make the ground game work.
LF has a great season every year, until he plays Bama, then falls off a cliff (or gets hurt)

I'd take Cook over LF (but I am still adamant about not drafting RBs high)

I'd even go OG Dan Feeney or OG/C Pat Elflein in the 2nd and RT Taylor Moton or RT Dion Dawkins in the 3rd.
I'm happy to see Fournette falling on some of the newer big boards I've seen. Good player of course, but not transcendent and injury concerns on top of that. Wouldn't even want him in a trade scenario where we traded down into the teens.

I think he's a really good player, who can be great, but the injuries are a big concern. That's why I don't believe he will end up as the #1 RB taken in the draft.

you are selling Fournette short if he is 100%
Jackson and Allen in the middle with Yannick and Fowler on the edge..... Yes please.

Rotate in Day and Jones.

You're talking about a front 4 that can pressure the QB which is exactly how you beat good QBs.

I have to agree.  I don't know if we would take him at the 3rd or 4th overall pick if someone like Allen was there, but that's not a knock on Fournette.  He's just as good of a prospect as Elliott was last year.

This is how i feel.

I think he has elite talent if he stays healthy. I think he'd be worth it at our pick...but I'm way more on the Allen/Adams/Barnett and possibly Tim Williams train than him.
No way I take a RB for the Jags because their OLINE needs so much help. Elliott is a stud for the Cowboys partly because of their great offenaive line

We need a LG and a RT...not like we're talentless.
Quote:Bortles/Dalvin Cook/Allen Robinson. Jags have their triplet. We are built.

Scary good
this is total BS. Why would we already say no to someone when our last game wasn't even over?

I'm going to be on the Fournette train. I like him over Dalvin

Dalvin is smallish to be the every down workhorse.  I'd love to see someone like Fournette.

Lol. 6ft 214lbs and he's been the primary back now for how many years.

Laugh all you want.  College ain't NFL.  I don't think he's thick enough at 214.  Can he put on 10+ pounds of muscle without slowing down?  Idk.  I prefer the bigger, stronger back.

You might want to research backs weighing in around 215lbs that have had success in the NFL.

I agree with you there.  I'm also not very impressed with his short area quickness.  I think he can be very good with a good offensive line... but many players can.  I think he's going to be a good to great pro as long as he is healthy though.  which can be a big question mark.  I would pass on him with our pick simply because I think Cook is the better prospect.
LF could be the next AP

AP had injury concerns too and look how he turned out in the nfl.
