Quote:LOL, says the [BAD WORD REMOVED] cLoWn who thinks Shorts is better than Blackmon....

Given that I'm not suspended from the NFL, right now I'm a better than Justin Blackmon.

No, there were seriously arguments on this board during weeks 5-8 (when Blackmon was playing) that Shorts was the better WR of the 2.

The people who really believe SHorts is the better player are clearly deranged.

Who cares how good Blackmon is? You are going to have to let this 'anyone but Shorts thing' go, he is the top dog here now. Drunk, 3 year-old rants need to be put to bed.

Blackmon isn't here, he wont be here until he does whatever it is he is supposed to be doing or not doing. He is doing such a bad job at whatever that is, that the owner, GM, HC and a teammate have all said publicly he isn't fixing what needs to be fixed. He is doing such a bad job, the team has drafted two 2nd rounders to try and fill the void.

Comparing Shorts to Blackmon at this stage is about as relevant as comparing Shorts to Don Hutson. Sure Hutson was better, but Hutson ain't playing any more.

never once have i said that. blackmon is a stud. but he is one strike away from a lifetime ban.
Quote:That means he'll be averaging close to 150 yards per game, accounting for the usual missed games due to injury....

Cool. Hope you're right.

Ouch.  Good burn though.

I think they are different style of WRs, but to compare the stats

2012

14 games play by Cecil 55 rec for 979 yards 7 tDs, avg 17.8

16 games played by Justin 64 rec for 865 yards 5tDs, avg 13.8  (thats with Justin playing 2 extra games)

overall avg cecil is 14.5 yards per catch with 11tds  compared to 13.8 by Justin with 6tds

If you look back at the video of those games you will see that justin not only droped many of passes but gave up on the route

while Cecil was double covered at times with the best CB on him.

I'm just saying that i disagree with your comment about Cecil being so far off from Justin.

Shorts has yet to be less productive than Blackmon.

SHorts needs a WR1 on the other side to operate at peak production.

Blackmon is top level, regardless of who lines up on the other side.

Shorts best game (141 yards, vs richard sherman) came without Blackmon on the field.

Blackmon was top level, equally as relevant to the conversation, Steve Largent was pretty good.

again, who was the WR1 on the field last year when shorts had a career year with Ghenne?

His 4 game stretch with Blackmon in the lineup last year 57 yards per game, 1 TD, 5 catches per game. YPC was 11.4

First four games of 2013 for Shorts (No Blackmon in the lineup): 84 yards per game, 0 TD, 6.5 catches per game. YPC was 12.9

LOL.  So much for that oft repeated myth.  Every WR benefits from having another receiving threat on the field.  They benefit even more by having a capable QB. Shorts is no different.

Cecil may not be some amazing WR but he produces healthy numbers whether he's lining up across from Mike Brown or Justin Blackmon.
1. Lee

2. Shorts

3. Robinson

4. Sanders

5. Brown

For those of you who arent putting Lee as #1 is crazy, yall must have forgot what he did when fully health and had a decent qb, he was clearly the best WR in th NCAA (finished 4th in Heisman). I think he'll be in many probowls. He will be an all pro, watch. N if blackmon does come back and jas he head on right, we gonna be a problem for every DB core
The last couple OTAs only 4 WRs have been practicing:

Chad Bumphis

Damian Copeland

Allen Hurns

Kerry Taylor

Hopefully one of these guys earns some more reps come training camp.

I'm not sure how someone with zero NFL experience is going to be above Shorts, a proven good WR.  There's a chance Lee becomes the go-to guy this year, but WRs tend to struggle out of the gate.

Shorts is a proven wr. But he is not an all pro, nor has he even reach 1000 yrds... as far as wrs getting to a slow start, wat bout Green, jones, johnson, bryant, allen..
Shorts, Lee,Sanders, Robinson (will probably see a lot of playing time on 3rd down and goalline/redzone situations. Also I guarantee barring injury that Drob makes this team and shows a ton of improvement.

had he stayed healthy he'd probably have two 1,000 yard seasons. I'd wager if he stays health he produces at worst 1,100 yards.
