If the Jaguars would have drafted Johnny Manziel, he would have had a cult following more than 5 times as large as the cult followings that Byron Leftwich and Matt Jones had combined. There would have been a need for many more staff members on this MB.

We are a small group but mighty in the face of adversity nonetheless.
Fortunately for us, it didn't happen.

I would have probably taken a break for a couple seasons until he flamed out and we moved on. Another bust would be really, really painful.

If Young is in the mix, there wouldn't have been a woman in sight either.
All of the classic VY party pics appear to be sausage parties.

This would have been a level of adversity yet to be seen in these parts!

While it's possible that Johnny Manziel will have some good moments as an NFL QB and might even get a team to the playoffs on one or more occasions, it's difficult to picture Manziel getting a team to the top. Along with that, his style of play, combined with his small frame, likely will lead to a relatively short career. I believe strongly that it's best for the Jaguars not to have Johnny Manziel on their roster. The problems associated with Manziel as a QB outweigh the benefits.

I don't know, David. The Tebow nonsense was pretty bad. The board impact was minimal because we were working feverishly to make those discussions disappear when it got ridiculous.

I imagine the Tebow stuff would have been far worse if we had drafted him. Because then they'd have a reason to stick around. We had plenty of Johnny Freefall posters here too. Thankfully they've migrated to Cleveland. Good guy Jimmy Haslam. Bringing the people who belong in Cleveland, to Cleveland.

You are 100% right, and the same energy that hit Cleveland would have hit here.
With that said, I don't think he will do well in the NFL.

The energy in Cleveland will be short-lived.
The energy here in Jacksonville seems to be sustaining, and they are seeing a bump in ticket sales post-draft.

Everyone thinks he will be a bust, but we really don't know. If he pulls off some Tebowesque performances, it can last.
I'd be interested to know how many seats are left. I also wish they would have bumped the seat relocation event up a month or two. Everyone that is now buying tickets is possibly buying the better seats that I may have wanted.

Cleveland: The only city that Jacksonville is allowed to make fun of.

For how long? Tebow had a shelf life. It expired fairly quickly.
