Quote:Congrats, Jags. 3rd and 4th round picks are who you sit for a year. NOT the third stinking pick in the first round.

Thanks for nothing. See you next May.....

Wait - everyone says Gabbert suffered by being thrown into the starter's role too early - but you're moaning because Bortles won't be thrown into the starter's role early enough?

This is the most amusing day of the year for a message board - all the GM juniors moaning and groaning about how if they had made the selection things would have gone so much better.

Always good for a laugh.
Quote:If its the right way why is it so rare?
It was the common thing to do before free agency took rookie salaries off the chart.

More of a financial thing. They had to see what they had as soon as possible in order to be able to cut their losses if needed.
Quote:He will start week 1 @ Philly.
not only will he start but he will trash philly

put me on record

I'll tell you what's good for a laugh, schmuck. You. Your lack of comprehension of the simplest of concepts amazes everyone more and more by the day.

You would be better served by double and triple reading everything you respond to and make sure your response is even relevant to the point you try to counter with every post you stalk.

Go back, read it again. Try your best to comprehend simple, oh so simple English, and for God's sake, stop making such a fool of yourself, for not only your own sake, but the sake of everyone who is forced to read your rambling, babbling attempts to sound intelligent.

If you have trouble figuring out what all this is about, I'll be happy to try to dumb it down to your level. I'm not sure if the intellect of the rest of this posting community will allow that, but I'll do my best.

So you'd play him behind THIS OL right out of the gate?!?

With these WRs?!?

I would advocate ANY rookie QB put in our situation ride the pines until the line settles.
LOL at this guy

See my response to your butt buddy. I really don't know why I am  wasting my time responding to you either, but you seem to share the same lack of reading comprehension. Learn to read, then come back and ask a pertinent question next time.
Quote:No it's not a joke they said he was their guy even at #1 you mean to tell me the guy we evaluate as the Best player in the entire draft has to sit for a year and develop?

Houston played David Carr right out of the box and had absolutely NO offensive line to speak of.

Carr, without experience and without a competent OL blocking for him, took a record number of sacks and was ruined.

See also:  Manning, Archie.

It's for his protection first off.

Secondly, if he sits a year, it doesn't mean he's doomed to be a bad QB.

Aaron Rodgers sat his first few years.  He developed into an outstanding QB.

Carson Palmer sat his first year and turned out fine.

Steve McNair sat and did okay.
Quote:Because guys drafting that high are afraid for their jobs, exactly like JDR was when he started Gabbert our of desperation.

Exactly. Dave has a pair, and Shad's backing.

You shouldn't allow nameless faceless names on a message board adversely affect your emotions to the point you bitterly name call.

You realize you are having a Krayz level meltdown, don't you?
Quote:Find me the last top 5 QB that didn't start day one he shouldn't need to be developed we drafted him that high to be an impact play someone to build around not develop?

I'm ok with the pick but have real concern if the plan is to sit him for a year
Carson Palmer.
Seems likely the Jags would be equally open to Bortles winning the job for week 1 as they would be him sitting a whole year.

He'll be ready when he's ready.

To artificially accelerate or limit his growth one way or the other would be a mistake i would think.

go Jags! Smile

Bortleboody will never see a single bench this season. Not happening.

The fact that most of you on here are complaining about this pick, makes me believe that we just found our long-lost franchise QB.

I've had the misfortune of reading your entire thread.

You haven't given anything approaching a credible reason for your tantrum in this thread.

He's top 5 so he should automatically start?!?

So you are going to put him out there with no experience, no weapons, no offensive line, in two of the most hostile environments for visiting teams in Philly and Washington?!?

I agree reading comprehension is an invaluable skill, but I can't understand the reasons for your apparent irrationality.
They'll sit Bortles until Henne starts costing the Jags some wins. So I wouldn't worry.

This gets better and better! You are really bummed that Dave didn't call you first aren't you?

I can't remember which player you're a fan boy of. I'm sure you'll wear your Jaguars pajamas and cry yourself to sleep.

It'll be ok in the morning, I promise.

I swatted a bothersome gnat who wasn't you. My question still stands and is still unanswered.

Do you understand the premise of what I was saying in the least? It was a pretty simple concept.

Dakota, turn the pc off. When something like this can affect your life this much....its time to call it quits.

And again, you are clueless as to what I posted about. As much as you stalk me and make everything about me, this isn't about me. Take the rabbit out of the boiling pot of water there......
