You guys sure love a conspiracy theory.
Mettenberger has no wheels and no chance of being drafted by us. Also his hair looks weird
It just seems somewhat convenient that all of this is coming out a day or two before the draft. Some team is more than likely floating this information.
Mettemburg has alot of legitimate concerns. The biggest is probably his alleged sexual assault when he played for Georgia.

I'm pretty sure that's not the biggest concern. That's been addressed and dealt with.
And on top of all that he just isn't very good...
Oh, and his off the field concerns are being way under reported. It goes much deeper than we know.
I'd want Mettenberger here only as the 2nd QB selected in this draft for us, and that would be also under the pretense that QB like Murray, is already gone.
If he's already targeted as a 3rd round pick, what's the point of trying to damage his draft stock any further?

I agree, Tim.
Like I expressed in another thread, even with some major concerns regarding Zach Mettenberger, there's probably at least one team that uses a vertical type of Offensive Scheme that's going to want him because of his size and arm strength. Not to mention, Mettenberger played in the SEC and was coached by Cam Cameron this past season. I think there's a better than even chance he's taken in Round 2.
A lot of this has been quietly rumored for quite some time now. It's just now picking up some steam. He's not a "high character" guy.
Hope he falls, i'd love to see the Jags get him in round 4 or 5 if he does slip. Probably the best pure passer in the draft.
And this thread was started by you, FBT? Of all the big name prospects out there, why would anyone try to smear someone who's a 3rd-5th round guy? Who knows, maybe something did came out -- and bad timing I may add -- and the media jumped on it.
I actually had to double check the OP' screen name because I thought for sure it was started by TMD.

He got drunk as a skunk and groped a girl at a bar.
It wasn't just alleged, he plead guilty to two misdemeanor counts. His punishment included 12 months probation, 80 hrs community service, and a $2,000 fine.

If the staff weren't taking up for one of their own and Mettenberger not been an easily recognizable figure, the average Joe probably wouldn't have had any more punishment than being kicked out of the bar.
I'd say he's learned his lesson given there's been no other incidents like this or even any more incidents with alcohol (unlike say Blackmon.)
Let's not act like he's Darren Sharper. In fact, it didn't even rise to the level of what Roethlisberger was alleged to have done.
Rumor has it he was kicked off the team lying to Richt about the nature of the incident and charges. Makes sense, as lying to coach is about the easiest way to accomplish that, and I doubt pleading guilty to those charges alone would have done it.

My thoughts, too... LOL.
Funny he didn't share them before now...
FBT has vouchsafed Zach beyond any shadow of a doubt.

Perhaps you all failed to properly read my post, but that's nothing new around here. I said deeper than WE know. I have seen several nuggets from multiple who I trust that do know some specifics, and they have said that if they were allowed to give specifics the public would view him as completely undraftable.
