I made 5 points. 4 of them were legitimate. You replied to 1. So ill wait for you to reply to the others. But there are plenty of interviews with players around the league talk about how Jacksonville is on the rise and others that signed here saying its something they want to be a part of. Alex Mack said something similar and he's stuck in Cleveland.
I have come to the conclusion Mad Dog that you have a scenario in your mind that no other team should be able to benefit besides the Jags.  You try to make it to where no other team should get good players, get a good trade deal, etc....

It just doesn't happen like that.  I have also read numerous reports that the Bills and the Lions are looking to trade up to the 3 spot.  They won't get nearly as much in return as the Texans, but they will still get something, if they decide to do that.

Trade downs don't always mean the team is going to do the right thing with it.  What if the Texans trade down and take Carr?  Doubtful, but a possibility.  What if they trade down, and Clowney becomes the greatest DE to ever play.

Personally I will be happy if the Texans don't take Clowney.  That would be the dumbest thing I have ever seen.

personally I hope tmd doesn't get banned before the end of the draft. I want to see him implode.

Quote:Then why do you want Bridgewater at 3 and that TE from Notre Dame in the second if they are both terrible values?

A franchise QB is never terrible value in the top 10.
He is, by your definition, bad value at 3 if we could trade down and grab him later.  Come on TMD, you are contradicting yourself!

Quote:3. I really don't see how a few extra wins in November, and then losing 3 straight to close out the year, the last being a blowout loss, "established a winning culture". I think the people that cite this are desperate to try and manufacture something good out of something that really (in the end) will or could wind up biting us. (should this trade happen)

You, quite frankly, have no idea what you are talking about.

You are just posting something ridiculous to get under our skin.

Look at the replies. We know your game. You're figured out.

Get a job.

Quote:The only way that the tanking will have been a waste for them is IF in the end (tomorrow) the Falcons (or no one else) don't make the deal with the Texans, and the Jags wind up being the team making the trade down for a nice return.

IF that happens, then I will admit that they tanked for nothing.

So, we will certainly get hoodwinked by the Texans unless we don't?

Glad we cleared that up.

When you're looking for something to get mad about, you'll usually find it.   Think about that for a while.
Quote:Or any competitive sport. The most competition he has ever had is his current bid to overtake FBT as the top poster on this board. They both have been one for one all week around here. FBT has been holding about a 100 post lead all week. Not much of a competition though as many times as TMD has been banned.

I am going to get a shirt made with HIGH SCORES, "You play to lose the game" on front and "Just lose baby" on the back.

"Losing isn't everything, it's the only thing."
Quote:1. It wouldn't have been us because we would just take clowney at 1. Which isn't good because based on the ol' last name meter...clowney is going to be a bust.

2. Again, you can't control other teams. You can only do your best with your picks and hope your talent evaluators earn their money.

3. Those "pointless wins" we had. Established a winning culture and a progressive movement making the jaguars more attractive to others in the NFL. It gave us a shot at Alex Mack. It made other free agents WANT to be here. That's documented.

4. If the Texans take teddy #1 then ill come on here and say how smart you are because you've been saying for almost a year that they tanked for teddy. Anyone else or a trade down to 3 and they still don't take him will just cement you as the fool you are.

5. Do you think he just writes down these troll ideas when he has a little free time and saves them for a rainy day?

sigh....for Achilles....

1. you don't know that.

2. Right, you can't control other teams per se....but by finishing with the top pick you give your OWN team the most options, one being trading. In a way, you are manipulating the rest of the league by giving yourself more opportunities. For instance, the Falcons know that if they want Clowney, they likely have to now trade with Houston.

4. Teddy appeared like that was their goal in tanking because back at that point Teddy seemed like the best value of anything. Now 2 days before draft day, the best value is trading down for a windfall of picks - in which at 6, they might still get Teddy anyway. The point is you tank so you can ultimately be the team that winds up with the best opportunity of getting THE MOST VALUE on draft day.
