Quote:Why Dee Ford?
I think there's a lot of propping this guy, maybe a little too much. IMO he's a bit undersized and kind of falls into that "tweener" territory that's hard for players to find a role that suits them best.
I don't think it's going to be easy for him to be an every down DE in the NFL, and he may have his work cut out transitioning into an OLB in a 3-4.
His best fit might be somewhere there's already a stable of rushers, and he adds to it. Perhaps like former teammate Corey Lemonier. I think he'll have an adjustment period.

On research not what Mel Kiper said I would say any Alabama defensive players that are drafted. Darius is the only very good player from plenty of picks over the years. Richardson and Ingram have not been lighting it up either.

Nobody in the history of NCAA football has ever single-handedly swamped a high ranked team by surprise?
Sure they have. The difference between better times and now is they weren't so stupid to put a flash in the pan where he doesn't belong.
Mack tracks like a flash in the pan.
Torry Holt, Bret Favre, Doug Flutie, just to name a few off the top of my head.

Aaron Donald's size and arm length are a concern. I'm not positive he'll bust (just as I'm not positive on any of these players). But I think he could certainly go either way. And I'm not sure he'll wind up playing like a high 1st rounder (which is where he's projected to be drafted). I also think he's one of those players who has the potential to be misused easily. (Think: Ziggy Hood)
With Beckham.. there's a lot of highly rated WR prospects, and I don't think all of them are going to succeed. I should have also listed Brandin Cooks there.

Bortles will settle into the league and be just fine. No jynx there. Shall we pick up where we left off?
Fowler, Gregory and Mariotta
