I think a trade down from #3 to #6 with Atlanta is a good possibility. If Atlanta misses out on Clowney, they might move up to #3 to take K. Mack, giving us their #6 pick and their #37.
What if San Francisco targeted WR Mike Evans, and offered us their #30, #56, #77 and #100 picks for #6? That would give us 7 picks in the top 100. Would YOU do it?
Although some of these are probably a little off on CBSSports.com, these are the players we may able to get at the listed picks (with actual CBSSports ranking next to name):
#30 - OG X. Sua-Filo (30)
#37 (ATL) - DE D. Lawrence (38)
#39 - WR D. Moncrief (40)
#56 (SF) - OLB K. Van Noy (56)
#70 - TE T. Niklas (71)
#77 (SF) - CB S. Jean-Batpise (78)
#100 (SF) - QB Z. Mettenberger (101), but probably gone much earlier, could take other QB
If we could get all those players at those picks, I'd dang sure do it.
SF would have to offer up 2 1st round picks in addition to the other picks to make that even remotely close to being worthwhile.

They would need to throw in next years 1st, and 2nd round picks as well.
Not thrilled about moving all the way down to 30
I think both ATlanta and San Fran would have to offer more than you suggest them giving in each case.
I don't think SF can give you enough value to move from 30 to 3. Don't see that happening. Atlanta or Dallas are the two most likely trade options.
If SF threw in a future 1 I would do that in a heart beat.

Not if it falls in the same general area as their first pick this year.
Dave doesn't seem to want to move down too far.

I'd expect more from both teams to be honest, but it hurts missing out on those top prospects.

I agree, throw in a 2015 1st round pick, hope to god Blaine Gabbert ends up starting the entire season, the 49ers go 2-14 and the Jaguars get a top 3 pick in 2015, haha that would be ideal.

Maybe SF goes crazy and gives us their first rounders in both 2015 and 2016 also....which would be valuable as Harbaugh will be leaving after this season and then they will collapse.
In the end, unless there's a blockbuster trade on the table, I think the team is going to stick with #3.

SF isn't going to make a move like that. Oakland, maybe. Not SF.

I don't know about that. With as deep as this draft is this year, San Fran could use that as leverage. Still really good players available at #30, then also at the other picks they would be giving us (late 2nd and 3rd round). Look at the players we could (possibly) get with those picks. If Caldwell was slick enough, he might could get a 2nd round pick in 2015 thrown in.

You must not have read the original post. We trade down with Atlanta to #6 first, then trade down to #30 with San Fran so they can take Mike Evans at #6.

SF would have zero leverage. They'd have to give adequate value to jump from 30 to 3, and what you've proposed does not represent anything close to value. They'd be fleecing the Jags. The Jaguars would be trading out of a PREMIUM position in the draft to a bottom of the first round prospect. There's a price to pay for that kind of move, and what you're presenting here doesn't cover the bill.

Even going from 6 to 30, they'd have to give up an additional 1st round pick to make it worth it. We're not here to do SF favors.
I'd do the trade down with ATL; wouldn't do the SF one.
1st (ATL) - Mike Evans
2nd (ATL) - Dee Ford
2nd - Richburg or Marcus Martin
3rd - McCarron
4th - Jaylen Watkins
4th - Pierre Desir
5th - Aaron Murray
5th - Storm Johnson
5th - Crockett Gillmore
6th - Halapio or Steen
6th - Beau Allen
7th - Charles Sawyer

And GM's always tell the truth in interviews with the media...
I don't really want to trade down too far either, but if we could get those players I listed, I would do it. There would be so much more talent (going into their 2nd season) for a rookie franchise QB next year (Winston, Mariota) in the 1st round.

Yeah, we're on the same page here.
I'm not opposed to making both trades in concept - I would just need a bit more compensation in draft choices with each to get it done. The Jags would be dropping pretty far, but with enough picks, they could make it worth their while, aspecially with some picks in future drafts, too.
