Anyone have one in their area? By far the best sub shop in my opinion. We have Larry's, Firehouse, Subway, and some smaller sub shops around here (Fleming Island). Jersey Mike's opened up and to me, is the best one. Their bread is phenomenal, and the level of ingredients are second to none.

They have this spicy/sweet relish that I have been getting on top to finish the sandwich off, phenomenal!

There's one on Roosevelt near St Johns Ave. I went when they first opened...maybe a year or so ago, it wasn't bad, but for some reason I've never been back again.
Publix still rules the sandwich world.

And I find JM to be below average, to be honest.

They are all over up here in VA and they are about as good of a sandwich as you can get at a chain restaurant.

I love how they fresh slice everything as they make your sandwich. And the taste kind of reminds me of a place on Blanding Boulevard years ago called Uncle Charlie's; loved that shop!

I prefer Firehouse tbh.

No chain beats some of the mom & pop sub shops.

I'd put Jersey Mike's up near the top of sub chains. I'm a Larry's guy too.

Jimmy John's being the most overrated.

Subway being the most disgusting.

Subway is bad.....and they give you the bare minimum of toppings/ meat.

I actually like Quizznos. Unfortunately the one near me closed down. They were delicious and hearty.

I don't understand why so many people like Jimmy John's.  I think it's plain and boring.

I dont mind Subway in a pinch.

I used to really like Firehouse, but the last couple times I've gone there, the subs have been pretty plain and boring also.

Publix...can't go wrong.  I've been to Jersey Mike's once and their philly cheesesteak was pretty darn good.

Not a huge Firehouse fan. I will go for my free Teal Deal one but thats it.

Yeah, me neither...."Love of a Lifetime" was soft.

Uncle Charlie's was very good! I think that place is something else now. There is a Uncle Charlie's over on Lane where Saltys used to be...I'm assuming it's the same place that used to be on Blanding.

My Mother was a teacher at the school I attended. There were some days that my Dad would bring her lunch from Uncle Charlie's and I would feel so betrayed because she got this amazing sub and I was stuck with the ol' PB & J. There was even a picture of her eating one of those sammiches in the school yearbook! I still get mad whenever I think about that picture.

That was just wrong!!!!
Jersey Mike's #13, Mike's way.  Add bananas and jalapenos.

Hard to find a better sandwich anywhere, if possible.

The cheesesteak is outstanding, too.

by "bananas" I'm guessing you mean "peppers" right?....

Still there.  Pretty good pizza pie.

We call it Uncle Sticky's because of the cleanliness of the seating area.  Most people pick it up to go.

Yes.  "Jalapenos" are also peppers.

Well, I knew that part....

I know some people actually put "real" banana's as a topping for some sandwiches so I wasn't totally sure of your meaning at first.
All this talk about sandwiches is getting me hungry with the hankering for a South Philly style HOAGIE... might be away for awhile... :whistling:
