I think I would be pretty accurate in saying I do more draft study in a week than most people on here do for the entire draft. It's just like I said earlier I woudn't say I'm in the same boat as some of my friends (if I could really even call them friends) that put in nearly 100 hours of draft work a week.

Professional GMs and scouts- just like yourself (lol) put months and years onto scouting a player. And they are often wrong.

No, Ted isn't a developmental candidate. I never said he was, but I suppose you had to suggest that strawman to suit your agenda. But yes, he still needs his share of work put in before he'll be ready to shoulder a franchise, if ever.
You're all talk, and talk is cheap. If you ever try substance for a change, I'll certainly be shocked. I didn't think that would be so hard for someone who supposedly puts in so many "hours." Remove the lotion and tissue from the equation, and watch clips of someone other than Ted and you might get farther than this.

It's a moving target. If you never stop looking, you're never in so-called "purgatory."
Draft, develop, repeat. It (should) never end. If you're doing it right, your up and coming is ready to pick up the slack when your starter is in decline.

The difference is pay grade. QB purgatory is fine while the QB is cheap. Schaub wasn't hurting the Texans 4 years ago, Garrard didn't hurt the Jags, Sanchez didn't hurt the Jets, and Dalton isn't hurting the Bengals while he is cheap. Then Schaub got the big money and Mario Williams, Eric Winston, Demeco Ryans (you know some of the keys cogs in the teams real success) etc had to be let go. The pain part comes in when it comes time to give them the second contract.
I will give the Bengals big applause if they can manage to stay away from the mistake of giving Dalton a big second deal if he doesn't take a big step forward this year. It's so hard to do that though when the QB, as always, gets so much credit for the teams success.

There's that draft ego I love so much! You do so much scouting, yet all you can come up with is the same lines over and over. I spend close to 2 hours or more everyday breaking down film and scouting reports and I'm not even half as far as I would like to be on evaluating prospects across the board, yet you do a couple hours watching a few cut-ups and you're an expert?
He strikes me as a future Chad Henne...we don't need that here. If given the right situation he could succeed but that right situation will involve a lot of the pieces of the puzzle being pretty darn good for him to be successful.
I could be entirely wrong and he could be a future superstar and I hope that is exactly what happens. He's had a heck of a career at an SEC school, by all accounts I can find is a good guy and should be allowed to sit on the sidelines and learn at the NFL level. I wish him the best but I'm not sure I would take him where I think he'll be taken.

The biggest issue I've seen with him is his passes that get knocked down at the line, could be a very bad habit at the next level.

Interesting, where do you get your flim...it is very hard to come across real film and I would love to get some myself. I have also, for about the 5th time, never called myself an expert. The most I've said is amateur draftnik. Don't let that stop you from misrepresenting though. I also haven't claimed to know the draft prospects across the board. I feel like I know this years QBs, big school WRs, RBs, TEs, pass rushers, and interior oline pretty well. I haven't studied much OT, DT, or ILB this year, and I hardly every do much secondary study because it's nearly impossible to get a proper evaluation of DBs on film.

Nah he was my #3 originally and a mid first rounder, but then I followed the herd and dropped him because of his height to #4 and a second rounder. I moved Tannehill ahead of him, and a mid 1st overall, based on his potential (which I think he still has) and surprisingly adept pocket skills considering he was a WR when he started college.
