Quote:So we should trade away the players who are the foundation of the team and only pick guys in the first round because that's where the pro bowlers are found?

Seriously, you need those later round picks to identify good players who can become solid contributors.  Not every player drafted must make the pro bowl, and to be quite honest, I'm not sure the pro bowl should be a bar for any player drafted.

I am not saying that. But in the trade scenario its only 2 draft picks. Keeping those 2 picks only gives us a 6.9% chance of getting a impact player so to speak (since the pro bowl is the only real reference I have as far as general consensus)

However, by trading those picks for a 1st round player, the odds are more in your favor of getting an impact player. I am not saying we have to use it on a QB, but I am pointing out that holding on to the 3rd and 4th pick doesn't give us better odds of finding a good player.

you are leaving out the 2nd round pick also

I am not leaving it out. There is just no point in talking about it in the trade scenario provided. The only picks we lose are the 3rd and 4th round picks, because our 2nd pick would be #19 instead of #39.

Id rather take Manziel there, he will be the better QB IMO.

I would as well, and I agree that he will be the better QB. But time will tell.

My only point of writing this was to show we actually wouldn't be giving up much to move back to the first round, esp to have our 2nd pick become #19 overall instead of #39 (20 spot difference). IMHO it would be a bad trade by the Dolphins.

Well the way you make it sound as if we would just be giving up a 3rd and 4th for a 1st.  I think anyone would do that

If you want I can redo the percentage of picks taken from rounds 2 - 4, but I doubt it would increase on that 6.9% much if at all.

Plus the 6.9 % is for just one guy but it would be 2, JS
Change it so we're giving up picks in the 2015 draft and I'd do it. That draft wont be nearly as stacked as this one.

Quote:Haha, its funny if people don't have Teddy as the number 1 QB God that it is some conspiracy theory lol
I don't think it's a conspiracy. I just think they either don't know how to properly evaluate NFL QB traits or have been swayed/misled by major media 'experts' and 'unnamed sources' who are purposefully knocking certain prospects (not just  Teddy) in order to hurt draft stock and/or create controversy to help ratings.

Which team are you working for currently?

You do realize the statistical chance of getting both picks right is much less than 6.9%.....

Just because there are 2 picks we could make in the third and fourth round doesn't mean our chances increase, the math would show our chances would decrease on getting an impact player.

I purposely did it the way I did to make the percentage higher and the math was less complicated......
So, is it better to use the 3 picks (2nd round, 3rd round, and 4th round) to take Bridgewater, or instead take 3 other quarterbacks and let them battle it out and develop over time?

I guess its illegal to have an opinion these days. The biggest knocks people have on Teddy are non throwing issues. I like when QBs can throw the football well.
