On a related note, asked source about #Jaguars at No. 3. Them: "The Texas A&M kid." Me: "Evans?" Them: "No — Matthews."

Not sure of the legitimacy of this one month from the draft but let the wailing and gnashing of teeth begin.
As they should be. They should be "considering" everyone, at least as far as the media's concerned.
That said, I hope they don't make that pick. I highly doubt that Matthews will even be the best player on the board at that point.
There's a 100% chance Caldwell doesn't take a Tackle in the first round even if we trade down... He's already stated it

He did? I missed that. Got a link?

Don't have a link but I've heard it multiple times on 1010xl where they quoted Caldwell about it
I wouldn't mind Matthews being the pick after a trade down, or multiple trades down.
I would mind selecting him at 3.
Does this 'source' happen to be a message board poster? Something along the lines of JungleCat?
Thankfully we're now less than a month away from ending all the speculation.
Maybe the source was kidding and was actually referring to Manziel. Idk. Matthews would be... man...

Yeah really.....since when in a draft that includes Manziel would "the Texas A & M kid" be Matthews or Evans??
Joeckel and Matthews vs. Clowney and Watt. Would be a fun matchup
No no no no no no no no no no no no

Thats actually a good point....
For all those people saying "OMGZ eye downt wantt Mattuze in teh furst rownd" they don't consider that aspect. When you play vs a team like Houston with their front 7, you damn well better have a top notch O line. Thats what the Dallas Cowboys did to offset the Eagles Gang Green front 7 in the early 90's, and they overtook them.

I am considering that aspect and still wouldn't take a RT at 3. Pass rusher or qb.
I think Pasztor is good enough.

You are being lulled to sleep thinking Pasztor is good enough because Houston had a down year last year....it won't be the same thing when he has to go up against a Houston team that is playing much harder as they are vying for a playoff spot, like in 2011 and 2012.
With a O-line of Joeckel, Beadles, Mack, ??? and Matthews, it won't matter even if Houston is playing at top form, we could neutralize their front 7.

You can have a top notch O-line without using two first rounders on tackles. Especially two years in a row. In fact those Dallas Cowboys did not draft a single O-lineman in the first round between 1982 and 2010.

Thats not true, IIRC....
Erik WIlliams was drafted in the first round in 1991, no?
..and was a big part of that line's success in the SB years.

Nope Erik Williams was drafted in the 3rd round in 1991. In fact that was the year that the Cowboys had 3 first rounders. Used on Russell Maryland, Alvin Harper, and Kelvin Pritchett. Erik Williams was even their third THIRD round pick.

actually, I just checked, you were right.....I thought Williams was a 1st rounder, he was 3rd rounder.

yeah, just posted that.
Thats a helluva return on a third round pick.
