Some people apparently misinterpreted the question.  The question related to the boredom caused by the extra 2 weeks of redundant talks and speculation, not the actual draft itself.

Quote:Isn't the 2014 draft happening in 2 weeks in NYC?  Sure that's not 2015?  They'll host it in NYC.  It's the epicenter of the media universe.

The league will look for any possible way to generate as much income from the draft as they possibly can.  You'll probably see commercial breaks all over the place, and Goodell will be wearing a sponsor provided suit with a big Geico logo or something ridiculous on it.

"With the first pick in the 2015 TaxSlayer.com NFL Draft..."

Yeah, meant 2015. I am sure it'll stay in NYC. And like anything, it's open to the highest bidder. Would not be shocked to see it at the Barclays Center if the money is right.
Cue the post by TMD - about how the drafts back in the '70s were much better. When men were men and Pete Roselle was still sort of alive.

Thanks Hurricane, yes that is what I meant. Probably wasn't clear enough.

Still an interesting discussion though !
I love the draft time. I take all the days off need for it's entirety and me and a few buddies grill out food and watch the whole thing. This year's is one of the most interesting because of how many different plays could happen. I can't wait!!!

GO JAGS!!

I don't worry about it too much. The season ends at about the same time every year, and starts about the same time every year. So, there is basically the same amount of offseason, and only so much to fill it up. Yes, we're all bored now, but usually we're bored in mid June when the dead zone hits. That time will be dramatically reduced this year because all of the camps are pushed back. For all intents and purposes, we're in the dead zone right now, and in a couple weeks, things start gearing up, and there will be very little boredom the rest of the way to the beginning of next season. So, it really depends on how you look at it.

I'm tired of waiting.

I think that's my point, but you put it far more succinctly !

Yeah, me too.
Yeah, I'm tired of waiting and, at some point, more analysis is counter-productive. Especially in a world where the media needs more and more outlandish hype to draw viewership because, like this message board, eventually every thing that can be said already has.

This NFL Films football film flop apparently had post-production buffers set in and the league, with no consideration at all to what the blow back would be, decided to push the draft back.

At this point, even the NFL Network experts are commenting on putting us all through this unnecessary delay. I can't imagine how the pro prospects and their families feel.

There is a lot of talk about rotating the draft from NFL city to NFL city in much the same way that the NHL draft does.

Operator malfunction..
I actually take time away from work just to watch the draft.  I buy all the draft magazines when they come out and browse through all the draft websites on a daily bases.  I guess you can call me draft crazy.  But more importantly, I mainly focus on who the Jags are picking.

The wait is just too long. Its at the point now where it almost feels anti-climactic.

I'm still obviously interested in seeing who we get and all....but, burned out by now.

I was burnt out 2 weeks ago.

Yes.

Just seven days to go...
