It has been a while since I have been on this site but I still sneak a peek at what is going on from time to time

The 2014 College Draft is approaching us and I have put together my mock draft for my peers consideration.

Without adieu:

Rd 1(3): Khalil Mack - OLB/DE - Buffalo - 6'3" 251 Lbs 4.65/40

Simply put I think he will represent the BAP assuming that Clowney is gone.

Rd 2(39) - TRADE to JETS for Picks 49 (Rd 2) and 115 (Rd 4) - More picks to rebuild with

Rd 2(49) Weston Richburg - C - Colorado State - 6'3" 298 Lbs 5.10/40

Marcus Martin is picked by the Ravens one selection ahead, but Richburg should be the Jags starting Center for the next 10 years

Rd 3(70) Dakota Dozier - OG - Furman - 6'4" 313 Lbs 5.42/40

Jags need another interior Olineman and Dozier has some special skill sets that will help him win a starting job perhaps as soon as his rookie season

Rd 4(105) - Robert Herron - WR - Wyoming - 5'9" 193 Lbs - 4.48/40

Jags need more depth at WR

Rd 4(114) Jordan Tripp - OLB - Montana - 6'3" 234 Lbs 4.67/40

Jags need more depth at the OLB position

Rd 4(115) Aaron Murray - QB - Georgia - 6'1" 207 Lbs

Murray will sit out his rookie season but in my mind is as talented as Andy Dalton of the Bengals

Rd 5(144) Jerrick McKinnon - RB - Georgia Southern - 5'9" 209 Lbs 4.41/40

Another QB to RB candidate that has some special skillsets

Rd 5(150) Kevin Norwood - WR - Alabama - 6'2" 198 Lbs 4.48/40

More WR depth - pretty good possession WR out of the SEC

Rd 5(159) Brent Urban - DE/DT - Virginia - 6'7" 295 Lbs

More depth at the DE position

Rd 6(179) Matt Patchan - OT/OG - Boston College - 6'4" 302 Lbs 4.97/40

Talented Olineman  who had a string of injuries that beset him since his days with the Gators

Rd 7(205) - Brett Smith - QB - Wyoming - 6'2" 206 Lbs

Another QB to throw into the mix

Rd 7(222) Walt Aikens - CB - Liberty - 6'1" 4.49

If not for his checkered background could be a mid round selection

I hate the idea of waiting that long to take a QB. You seem higher on Murray than most. I see him as a Shaun Hill type at best.

I do like the Herron pick though. And I think the team wlll add at least one or two receivers.

Stigma its been a looong time! You used to posts mocks everyday around this time of year!

Anyways,I like the mock. Potentially 3 day 1 starters there.

In this scenario, who are your top two picks? Clowney and who else? If Watkins is there and Clowney is gone, I would have a hard time passing on him.

Welcome back Stigma....other than Murray in the 4th, I hate your mock, but glad you're posting anyway.

I'd be happy with Mack in a trade-down, but not at 3.

Murray is probably the only pick made that I like in both player and where you have us selecting him.

Don't want Herron at all. In a draft this deep at WR talent, I don't want to waste it on adding another smallish WR. Not sure why they seem to be so popular around here. First it was Emmanuael Sanders love.....now this guy. smh. I guess people think because Steve Smith is one outlier example, that they all will be that good as a pro. Nope.

Give me a Jordan Matthews/ Moncrief/ Adams/ Benjamin or someone built like that along with that kinda ability, please.

Trading back in the 1st will most likely be difficult, especially if the Texans take Clowney. I like this mock draft. Addresses the offensive/defense lines heavily, as well as gives us more guys for depth and competition purposes. With 11 picks in a deep draft, I don't think Caldwell can mess it up. He has the flexibility to BPA every round and still fill lots of needs. If it were Gene Smith, he'd trade six of those picks to move up for a FB from Arkansas-Pine Bluff.

Love Matthews, but also love Allen Robinson out of Penn State but he may go very late in the 1st or early 2nd.

Yeah, he's built like the kind of WR I'd rather us target. And as productive too.

Wow, this WR class is deep.

If we waste it on a midget like Herron, I'll be pissed!!!!
I dont like the draft, the center is going to high, I dont like the Murray pick, B.Smith would be good in that spot, I  would only draft Mack in a trade back. This mock draft looks like a safe draft a Gene Smith type draft

Also another converted RB when we have one, in a solid RB draft, and another short WR we need a bigger WR, we already have Mike Brown and Ace Sanders.

All of them will be gone by time round 2 ends. One might slip to early round 3. He also had us getting Norwood who is the next closest thing to those guys...even though he's gonna be long gone by pick 150.
Always enjoy reading a Stigma Mock draft.

While I'm on the subject, I enjoy looking over mock drafts, and of course, one of the best sources is http://hailredskins.com/MockDraft.htm. Lots of mocks and some of them are pretty good. What isn't good are any of the newnfldraft entries, which unfortunately are a majority of them listed. They all have the EXACT same players listed for the Jags after round 1, and not a single of those guys realizes that we have multiple picks in rounds 4-6. Those mocks are lazy as hell, and they suck. If you avoid those, there are a lot of good ones just to kick around.

I like Mckinnon, but with shoelace, Toby, and todman; i dont think we need another RB that just has speed.  We need an above average speedster with some punch like Tre Mason but that's another story right there.

I think you get too hung up on what your own ideal template for a football player is. And you are so unwilling to accept that other people have a different opinion of what could work. You list Steve Smith as an "outlier". I guess so are Wes Welker, Desean Jackson, Kendall Wight, Golden Tate, Danny Amendola, Santana Moss...

Looks EXACTLY like a Gene Smith draft.
Welcome back stigma! I always enjoy you insight. Good mock which addresses most of the team needs.
We fired Gene Smith...

I havent heard of most of those schools...

Tripp and Tyler Starr are a couple of mid to late round lbs who are intriguing. Both performed really well in the short shuttle and the 3 cone drill showing excellent change of direction skills.

Please be joking.
Sorry, not a fan of this mock.  I can't see the Jags waiting until the last 4th round pick for a QB.  I have other issues throughout the picks, but I don't want to bash it.  I appreciate the effort and your opinion.
