Quote:I do mind. Thanks for asking. Got a 1-0 lead and then down hill from there. 9-2 right??
Hoping we get to raise it tonight. In other news, although I would rather the Buccos win, I did get a W in fantasy out of Miguel Gonzalez. 3.0 era and 1.17 whip. Not a bad start early in week there.
For me, it was nice to see Davis get off the
snide schneid a bit. As long as Baltimore can keep around 0.500 until June or so and let that rotation get locked in, I think they have a shot.

You familiar with Nolan Reimold?
And I need the Pirates to jump up to around 500. About 5-6 games under that right now. Need to get hot. Need to bring up Greg Polanco. Along with McCutchen and Marte, those three could be one of the best outfields in baseball.

Love that guy, but I don't think he's the best DH they could have. It'll be exciting to see him get back in the lineup though.

Yea, I am pulling for him. Good dude. He lives about 10 minutes from me. I worked with his wife for about 6 years. I don't typically ask him about baseball when I see him. I just leave it with, "I need you back playing for my fantasy team...".

No kidding. That's pretty cool!

That would be awkward if he misinterpreted.
Okay Trav, you can have your flag back.

Raise it. (Little late, busy night last night)

There was not enough beer in my house to keep up with that game.

stick the jolly roger up....
Strasburg career stats
10.50 K/9
4.16 K/BB
1.10 WHIP
3.01 ERA
2.78 xFIP
Those are absolutely "Ace" numbers. Since 2010 (Strasburg's rookie season)....
The only starting pitchers with a better ERA have been:
Kershaw, Iwakuma, Cueto, Weaver, Sale, Lee, Felix Hernandez, Wainwright, and Verlander. (Ahead of guys like Darvish, Halladay, Grienke, etc.)
The only starting pitchers with a better K/9 have been:
Darvish (Ahead of guys like Kershaw, Felix, Verlander, etc.)
The only starting pitchers with a better WHIP have been:
Kershaw, Weaver, Lee, Iwakuma, Sale, Wainwright, and Cain. (Ahead of guys like Lee, Verlander, Grienke, etc.)
The only starting pitchers with a better K/BB have been:
Lee, Halladay, Haren, and Wainwright (you get the point)
The only starting pitchers with a better xFIP than Strasburg:
None.
Strasburg has most definitely is and has been an "ace".
On a side note, all your base are belong to Tigers.
Again, re: Strasburg, he is getting unreasonably lucky this season. His career BABIP is .297, but this season it's all the way up to .358. Once the BABIP starts reverting back to the mean, you'll see the WHIP and ERA numbers get better. Strasburg's xFIP this season is better than his career average at 2.56, which is 3rd behind Fernandez and Tanaka. xFIP is usually the best indicator of future success, especially when you combine it with incredibly unlucky BABIP numbers.

Strasburg blew yet another late lead tonight.
Ace's don't do that with the frequency that he seems to. I've never seen a pitcher give up more late leads, and also hits in 0-2, or 1-2 counts in my life, or at least for a supposed "Ace" anyway....
As I said previously, the problem with Strasburg is likely between the ears.
He is
NOT an ace yet.

He's overrated as anything.

He had a quality start. It's not Strasburg's fault he doesn't get run support. If you are really citing wins and losses as a reputable stat, you are dumber than I thought you were.
Did you even read my post? Strasburg has been every bit as good as Justin Verlander, Zack Grienkes, Chris Sale, Felix Hernandez, Cliff Lee, etc. If those guys have been aces over the past 5 years (and they have), then Strasburg is an ace. Period.
