Quote:Yeah in what way was he a "fish out of water" I mean I have never played QB so I cant say I know what is impressive or not when one gets on the blackboard, but he didnt seem like he blatantly failed anything. I really couldnt care less about a TV show anyway. Seems to me he only really spent time breaking down one concept.
This is funny to me. I was thinking the same thing when I was watching Teddy Bridgewater.
At the end of the day, I think he's the guy we pick at 3. His positives outweighs his negatives, one being simply due to the fact dude just reeks competitiveness and leadership. He's a guy the team will rally around. He's the guy that, paired with Gus Bradley, would create an overwhelmingly positive and awesome environment.
Sure I worry about his negatives. A lot. But again it's like a match made in heaven Manziel and Bradley.
Quote:Gruden winds up liking every QB every time, and I'm specifically talking about the awkward white board and video break down portions of the episode not the whole thing.
You're right. We should draft the best artist at QB! Lets draft our qb how he draws on the white board. I hear Teddy is an awesome artist! Who cares that he has the arm strength of a 6 year old he can drawl!
Trolllll. TB will be 4 times the pro the circus midget will ever be.

Bridgewater will throw a touchdown pass to the other team every time we call an 10 yard out to blackmon. Manziel could through a beachball better than Bridgewater can through a football.
This thread isn't an attempt to deflect away the fact Manziel ripped it in his pro day while Teddy struggled is it?
I hate to do it, but there is just so many good quotes in such a short amount of time
Quote:He must not have been that bad on the show because Gruden gives Manziel a ringing endorsement:
^^^This
Gruden has spoke more highly of Manziel to the media than any QB-prospect over the last few weeks.
Quote:lol I was thinking the same thing when he posted this. Didnt Cam set the rookie passing record?
And ^^^This
If OP's assessment was right, Carolina shouldn't/wouldn't have drafted Cam Newton :teehee:
Quote:What are you talking about? He was fine on the show.
Definitely ^^^This
It's difficult to take honestly the assessment of someone who is waiting for/hoping Manziel will fail.

And finally, ^^^This.

Quote:Haven't seen anyone mention it, but Manziel's Gruden camp was on tonight also. My question: for anyone who flipped and wanted Manziel after his good pro day, do you conversely flip back because he was subpar tonight in the classroom w/ Gruden? He was a fish out of water breaking down his own plays/reads/progressions and even worse trying to draw things on the white board. Does that matter to anyone else?
To me that means way more than the pro day (although it is still just a small piece itself). We have tons of videos to break down how Manziel can throw, we don't get many opportunities to see what goes on in the meetings that the players will have with the teams. Gruden's camp isn't perfect but it actually is the closest we'll get to seeing that.
So for the overall day should we be higher or lower than we were beforehand? The true answer is neither of course, but I know that opinions change like the wind here so I'm interested to see what others think.
Good points. I watched the Gruden segment and it's obvious Manziel has his mind made up when he comes to the line of scrimmage and has not experience in going through his progressions. He has the physical tools but not the head. Conversely, it appears Teddy has a better grasp of the defenses and pocket presence. I'd only take Manziel if we were committed to 3-4WR sets and planned to open up the offense drastically (like the Rams used to do)..

He does a hell of a lot more analysis than you, pal.

Holy hyperbole, Batman! All 3 top QBs have good to great arm strength, and Manziel is definitely the best in that department. I honestly can't believe all the pro-Manziel usernames here...it's like Tebow all over again.
I think Bridgewater will have more passing yards, TDs, and less INTs than Manziel their rookie year and beyond. However, if we pick Manziel at 3 I won't be upset, but I'll withold judgement.

That doesn't make his opinion more valid. It just means he has no life.

Your sig. Follow it.
Didn't say it made it more valid. I just think it's great how somebody puts in time and forms their own opinion only to get trite responses like "get hired to an NFL team, then."

If anyone watched the entire Manziel QB Camp with Gruden last night (not just the promo clip), it was pretty impressive, too.
Gruden had footballs made without laces.
No gloves, no laces, JohnnyCircus threw the football perfectly.
That's something Bridgewater could never do. Not without laces AND sticky WR gloves.
Gruden even had the WRs hide behind blocking dummies to make Manziel show how he moves (like Brees does) to find the WR and create passing lanes.
Just like the Pro Day, every challenge Gruden threw at him (and he challenged him the entire show) JohnnyCircus met the challenge with flying colors.

Doesn't even come close to all the Bridgewater lunacy. Just look at all the avatards and sigs.

I just think it's insane how QB-starved we are as a fanbase. We're foaming at the mouth over every QB in sight.

You didnt say it, but it was certainly implied.
I didnt yell or insult anyone. I just stated a fact.
And this kyjag guy always comes in here and says, "well you have no idea how to evaluate so you dont know what you are talking about."
So he isnt the innocent little victim here.
