Quote:Love for a head coach is way overrated. No one loved Coughlin and I'll gladly take those results. And sports history is full of similar examples of coaches who weren't loved by their team but still managed to get the most out of the players.
I absolutely agree....

He just didn't get it done..

However...I'm not convinced given another year that he wouldn't

I don't like haikus.
Quote:No, I don't. No matter how badly we beat Houston, if we did, Gus is still what he is and we will never reach the Super Bowl with him at the helm.

If they came out and played lights out today, I would be asking why they aren't doing that every week.
Good point.

I would ask the same question...

But after I jumped up and down pumping my fist in the air...

Go jags

I was at where the OP is now last year. I was all on board to give him this year to prove it. He didn't prove it. He's toast to never be a head coach at this or most likely any other level than maybe high school. Probably not even there. He bad, very bad.

Lol.. I agree...He had... Very bad...

However....As long as he's a part of this team...I will want him to succeed.

He leaves.... Matters not to me
There is no scenario where I want this coaching staff back next year. None.
Some serious venom in here...

Look what I started lol

He should never have gotten a fourth year. Years 1 through 3 were quite enough to see that he'd never get the talent level on any team to achieve beyond its base abilities.

He's continued to show that in year 4 as talent is squandered and the team shows up for game after game woefully unprepared to possibly succeed.

It's become chic around here to place blame on Bortles, but the texans are getting even worse QB play than the Jaguars and they're in position to win the division.

Hard to argue against your statement.

I just hate to accept failure...

It's my natural and probably the biggest reason why I have successfully operated a small business for two years.

That being said, I've fired people when necessary...

Maybe I just believe he COULD be the right guy...

I am a successful small business owner in so Cal.

My two grown children are successful.

My younger children are BOTH Dean's List honor roll students.

I would say that compared to the average Joe?

I have plenty of hope.

That being said hope is a word I reserve for situations where all appears lost...

Feels like all is lost...

It's not...It's just football.

Here's to wishing you the best in all your endeavors.....

Die hard jags fan

Well Bradley makes millions, that doesn't change the fact that he is dumb and horrible at his job.

Khan doesn't have a clue about football.

Caldwell is average.

Next time just don't start threads as stupid as this one, if I remember correctly this isn't your first, you've made several, all were crap.
Blake is not about to be outdone as the worst QB in this game. stay tuned

Guest what?

It IS HAPPENING....

Happy Sunday!

Guess what?

We're winning.

I'm going to enjoy the moment...

Happy Sunday to ya!
Quote:Every jaguars fan... Suffers now .

Every jags player or employee

Suffers now.

Losing sux.

Period.

I've watched every game all year.

And I see some players bring everything they have on every play every game.

And other.....Well less that that...

But I hear almost every player comment about Gus.... Something like this...

" We love him as our coach".

So that being said....

If they mostly " love Gus"...

They Must know that he is almost certainly gone on or before Jan 21 2017.

Wouldn't they....As a group....

Come together and agree collectively...

" The only way to even have a remote chance to have Gus back next year is of we come out and flat out completely annihilate our opponents"?
My question is to all of my fellow jags fans is this....What if....

Today....

Collectively...Our team...

Flat out smashes Houston the way San Diego smashed us....

And then we repeat that performance with a similar performance next week...

Question....

If this happens...

Do you want Gus back?

My answer?

I want him back next year
If they love him that much they should be playing lights out all year. Love for the coach is not winning games. Coach's love for the players isn't winning games. It's like the song from way back in the day, All You Need Is Love, is a big fat lie. Just like all you need is motivation, or better coaching, or natural ability or a host of any other things. You can't have just one thing to win, you have to have a combination of things. If you lack just one thing on a team everyone suffers, in this case it's a losing season the likes of which I don't know that this organization or the fans have ever seen.

And no, I don't want Gus back.
I hate your syntax.
