I disagree, O halloran is plugged in to the inner circle. Lets not act as if Caldwell hasn't been very transparent. We've seen evidence in it during the fan forums as well as other interviews. He's likely just as transparent when it comes to feeding O Halloran info. or, cough, "rumors"...

 

I wish Caldwell was not so forthcoming.

If we do end up with Teddy, that's totally awesome and id welcome him with open arms.. Still would rather have Manziel, but a new QB is what this franchise needs and he would be it..

Its not blind assumption. We have seen/ heard ourselves how "open" Caldwell seems to be. He's been that way since he's been here. 

 

As said, I for one, would appreciate a less forthcoming approach. 

The best part is, we get to pick and choose which rumors we want to believe. I prefer just to watch everyone spazz or get elated at every other RUMOR that pops up.

You're assuming:

A) hes being honest. One forthcoming draft does not a pattern make.

B) the other GMs think he's being honest. I wouldn't if i was them.

C) this reporter has solid sources, and even that he's in the inner circle.


I understand not wanting the team's trade secrets in open air, but there's a big jump from "Caldwell is too open" to "Caldwell has a reporter in his inner circle and tells him his draft strategies."

Well, we're also assuming that every other GM in the league is living in a cave and doesn't know that Clowney and Bridgewater are two of the top names in the draft.

You're right, before this little nugget slipped out other teams had no idea that we may have wanted one of the top QBs/pass rushers... DERP

I don't see a problem with him getting released right now.  Maybe it's "transparent", but it gives Uche a better shot at latching onto a team.

I imagine as the team improves and draft position changes he'll be less "open" but right now I didn't see anything in the OP that wasn't pretty obvious.  It should have been obvious for a long time regardless of what Caldwell has said.  I could have told you during last season there was a good chance the Jaguars would be active in signing interior OL.  They interior OL played terribly and was an obvious need of an upgrade.  You've said it yourself with the likes of Uche, Rackley, etc.

 

Teddy and Clowney are likely at the top of a lot of teams boards...that shouldn't be a surprise.  Best QB prospect and a freakish DE prospect.  

 

What in the OP surprised you?
