It seems like all of the ducks (or stars) have aligned for a potential trade. Caldwell has the clout (picks) and friendship to trade up to the #2 pick with the Rams and Les Snead as GM and he also seems to have greased the wheels for a trade back with the Falcons and Dimitroff if Clowney is available from previous reported comments from Dimitroff.
If Bridgewater is available at #2 and the Rams are entertaining offers from other teams in an attempt to trade up do you offer a few mid round picks to secure your guy, most likely being Bridgewater?
Assuming you decided to stay put at #3 and Clowney is available and the Falcons come calling offering a few mid round picks to swap 1st rounders do you take the deal or stay put and select Clowney?
One thing to consider. Both trades would involve trades between former partners/buddies so the picks given or the compensation received may be less than what you would expect when looking at the trade chart.

Jake can play any position on the offensive line. Left guard. Right guard. Center. Left tackle. Right tackle. Even played as a jumbo tight end.
That versatility is a major reason why he's so coveted. It's easy. Draft him and throw him into the offensive line mix. Watch what happens.

No GM in their right mind is selecting a Guard or Center in the top 3 of the draft. If he cant play tackle he isn't worthy son.

He played right tackle when the Aggies had Luke Joeckel. If they did not have Joeckel, he would have spent all four years on the left side. You made up the idea he plays guard and center.

If a QB is on the board at 2 that Dave is convinced he is the only franchise QB prospect in the class, and he thinks there is a good chance that another team trades up to 2, absofrigginlutely trade up for him...whether it is Teddy, JFF, or Bortles. Dave has already said he has a great relationship w/ Snead and thinks it would only cost a 3rd or 4th rounder to do it. That's a no brainer under those conditions.
