Quote:Good for them. You could really talk yourself out of almost every QB prospect if you really wanted to.
The OP basically said, you don't know if a QB will be good or bad, so you're better off not taking one.
That is QB fear.
There's a huge difference between QB fear and QB stupidity.
QB fear is not drafting a QB while you think you already have one. Fearing you'll upset the starter. We've been there, done that.
QB stupidity is drafting a QB for the sake of drafting one out of desperation. That's what happened to the teams who went after Locker, Ponder, and Gabbert. It's why those teams failed and the teams who were more patient instead picked up Dalton and Kaepernick.
QB stupidity is much more dangerous than this mythical QB "fear."
It's stupid to think you can manufacture a franchise prospect from a crop that doesn't merit it.
Take the best player and don't force a QB pick at #3 if a QB isn't the best player.
That's fear all right. Fear of making the right choice by those desperate for a QB. Fear that we could pass on a QB with the #3 pick, and that be the right choice. That fear, is very real and is possibly the greatest of all fears on this board.
