Quote:From what he has said (and mannerisms when asked about him, like tonight) I honestly don't think they love Manziel.

I think it's:

1. Teddy

2. Clowney

3. Bortles or Carr whoever is their QB2

4. Mack

5. Watkins

That look on Dave's face when the kid said "Manziel" was priceless.
I think Bridgewater, Watkins, and Mack are in their top 5. I think Clowney is there too, but I'm not entirely sure how they view Clowney's "question marks". If they can understand that him not going full tilt this last season as a strategic move so he doesn't take too much pounding/gets hurt, then I see him being up there.

Part of me thinks Bortles could climb up after they get a chance to work with him/speak with him at the combine.

IMO I think that the top of the 1st round typically there's a more clear picture of how the players are rated by most GM's. And it seems as if Dave Caldwell did this last year but it's probable that they'll pick who ever they rate as the best player regardless of position of need. Then from the 2nd round on they'll start drafting need over BAP. For instance last year it was Joeckel, pretty much consensus BAP of the entire draft for most of the pre-draft season. Then he went DB's with the next two picks with Gratz, in my opinion, being more of a need pick than a BAP pick than Cyprien in the 2nd who most thought they would get before the 2nd round started.

I just think they'll pick someone I may not have wanted them to but then think, "yeah that makes sense, he's the best player there." I just hope it's not Sammy Watkins because the draft is so deep at WR and a single WR is not involved in as many plays as a DE or QB. I just won't be surprised if it is.

I'd take in this order:

  1. Bridgewater
  2. Clowney
  3. Barr
  4. Mack
  5. Manziel
A trust worthy reliable center is key, and ours retired.  GM Dave might go with FA to get a guy like Alex Mack from Cleveland but I doubt it.  I dont see the Jaguars spending that much in FA, even though they have the cap room.  That being said with them talking about drafting two QBs possibly in this upcoming draft, one would think that the interior Line would have to get some attention to protect that investment.

They claim they are confident with Luke at LT, and Paztor at RT, but one would have to think that Robinson OT is still in their top 5 due to value.

#.1) DE, CLOWNEY! (ESPN grades 96)

#2.) WR, Sammy Watkins (ESPN Grade 94)

#3.) DT, Timmy Jernigan (ESPN Grade 93)

#4.) QB, Teddy Bridgewater (ESPN Grade 92)

#5.) DE, Stephon Tuitt (ESPN Grade 92)

I dunno I'm sold on Clowney he seems more of a safer bet which meets a huge need on the Jaguars I would put him before Bridgewater whom will take time to develop i assume under Chad Henne.
Texans draft Teddy Bridgewater, Rams draft either Greg Robinson or Jake Matthews OT, Jaguars draft Clowney,

than Jerrigan and raiders take WR Sammy Watkins...

Manziel is not better than Bridgewater

No where close actually

And you might be right. He certainly has the measurables and the highlight reel to add where you can actually see him dominate over just as dominant players. I would not be surprised if they take Clowney over Bridgewater if given the choice of the two, and I wouldn't be mad either. But just me being a fan and what I'd like to see, I'd rather have Teddy.

They won't be able to choose between the 2. I think only one of them will be available when we pick. If Manziel goes #1, someone (atlanta) trades with Rams with #2 to get Clowney.

Or the Texans take Clowney and Rams stay pat and take Robinson or Matthews.

It is close in my opinion, between Manziel and Bridewater. They have two very different skill sets and have excelled at the college level with their respective styles. I just like Bridgewater better because his qualities seem to be more transferable. Manziel's improvisation and mobility may not work against the elite of the NFL, but if it does, watch out!

Thats why its not close for me. Big difference between running around kids and grown men.

I tend to agree. They're thought to be the best at the two most premium positions it's unlikely they'll both be available, and I'd like to take the one left over should the other one be drafted. But I wouldn't be surprised if they're both available.

Face it Bridgewater is 2 or 3 on our board
I don't think you know what that means.

I think it's unlikely Clowney makes it to us. I think either Houston takes him or someone trades up with Rams for him.

Clearly you have no idea what we were discussing. But no biggie, your forgiven this time.

Keep on trolling, you are not terrible at it.
