i'm not even anti-Bridgewater, I just don't think he's the second coming of Christ like most people in this fanbase have convinced themselves of. If Clowney is there, you take Clowney. There will not be another 6'6'' 250lbs DE who runs a 4.4. There will be another Bridgewater in next year's draft, if not better.
I think there are three fantastic prospects (Manziel, Teddy, Clowney) at positions we need. I'm excited to be at three.

That's kinda how I see it.....plus maybe a couple more with a close rating......it will come down to the interview.....he'll be able to tell if they have the juice.....if none of these three don't (which I highly doubt), then we trade down
How can anyone say johnny manziel is a unanimous #1 and downgrade Bridgwater for physical traits????
Manziel is like 5-10 and doesn't have The arm strength or pocket presence of Bridgwater. And please don't talk about his escapability and call it pocket presence, half the time he creates the pressure he manages to elude.
I can't see how anyone would concede that manziel is a unanimous #1 he is too risky. in the discussion ok ill give you that off of upside. but unanimous best QB? that's like saying he is a sure thing because there will be three taken in the first round! And probably in the top 10.
I gotta think someone is pulling kipers chain here.
Oh and I would much rather feed a kid a dozen or so pb and j's to put on some pounds, than try to teach a numbnut how to play QB. Just sayin....
Good....maybe the tinhorns will draft johnny ego and give us a better chance of beating them 2x a year
Quote:Actually your wrong
Bridgewater is the only qb with a 1st round grade on most teams

I agree on Manziel. I think he has superstar potential, but he needs TONS of work. I rewatched some cutups of him yesterday after seeing his game against Duke and really, really wanting him at 3. And TBQH, he isn't as good as he's made out to be. He has the potenial to be, but he isn't there yet the way Teddy is there.
Everyone talks about how Bridge has reached his ceiling...and that's what everyone said about Manning. Bridgewater has elite pocket presence and an elite mind for the game...and like Manziel, he seems to be at his best on the biggest stages, which is something Manning lacked. I am in no way saying his career path is Manning, or even that he's that similar; it's just food for thought.
I really respect Kodiak's analysis (I certainly couldn't and wouldn't put in that much work), but he's begun to underrate Bridgewater and overrate Manziel in my mind. I don't buy the line that Bridgewater does nothing "elite." My QB wishlist is Bridgewater, Bortles, and Manziel, in that order, with Clowney between Teddy and Bortles. I'd be happy with any of the 4 at 3.

We still would not be surprised to see Blake Bortles at No. 1 overall
How can it be a consensus if they contradict the paragraph by saying they can see Bortles as the #1 lol
Also who needs athletisim if you're smart enough to just pick apart the opposing D without giving them a chance. It's basically what manning has done the past two years.
Ok, I've seen this a couple different places now, so let me clear something up -
I LOVE Teddy. I think he has several elite traits, among them being his mental game, his pocket presence, and his accuracy, especially in the intermediate game. I think that, when I say I don't think he has any one thing that sticks out, people think I'm referring to his entire game. My bad. I think that, physically, he doesn't display everything at an elite level - arm strength, mobility, that kind of thing. However, he uses his mental game to make up for those (not weaknesses, cause they aren't weak) non-elite aspects of his game. He makes up for less than stellar strength by using phenomenal touch, less than stellar speed by knowing when and how to move effectively. He's gonna be a good QB, guys, if I gave any other impression, forgive me.
Manziel scares me. I don't see him being as good as most think he will.

From his discussions with actual scouts, Russ Lande is saying none of the scouts he's talked to believe these QBs are franchise/premier quality, and the only one close is Manziel. He states Bortles' reviews are widespread (some don't like him but thinks the Texans could take him,) and everyone likes but does not love Bridgewater.
Contrast that with the nonsense we're hear him spouting, and I certainly know who I believe has a clue and who doesn't.
Lande makes a world of sense, and explains a lot about what we're hearing outside the noise of the clown horns.

I think it'd be a misstep to believe NFL scouts are telling Russ Lande or our friendly neighborhood Bridgewater homer anything other than crap. It's great that Lande makes sense to you; it's probably because he agrees with you. The only truth regarding how teams view prospects isn't going to arrive until May 8, so I'm going to refrain from spouting anyone's opinion as Gospel truth.

No surprise that Lande agrees with you, and you think he makes a lot of sense.
Lande believed that Nassib was going to be the guy that the Bills were targeting. As last as his final mock draft last year. They targeted a Quarterback -- just not the one he thought they would. They instead took E.J. Manuel.
Personally I think Peter Bukowski makes sense with what he said (even though he's not a scout)

No, Bridgewater isn't a once-in-a-generation talent like Andrew Luck, but that doesn't mean he can't be an effective NFL quarterback. Furthermore, despite Bridgewater not having comparable physical talent to players like Stafford, some evaluators believe Bridgewater has the acumen and confidence to be a superior NFL player.

In other words, opinions vary on just how good Bridgewater is, but the consensus -- though not unanimous -- is that he's good enough as a prospect to bring value as a potential No. 1 overall pick, especially for a team in desperate need of a quarterback.

Of course, because believing you makes much more sense.
