I think it's pretty clear that if Clowney is there, we will take him. I just don't think he will be there.
Quote:i'm not even anti-Bridgewater, I just don't think he's the second coming of Christ like most people in this fanbase have convinced themselves of. If Clowney is there, you take Clowney. There will not be another 6'6'' 250lbs DE who runs a 4.4. There will be another Bridgewater in next year's draft, if not better.

None of the qbs next year have bridgewater`s refinement

We are getting bridgewate barring the un foreseen

Fortunately dave and gus are actual talent evaluators

Bodes well for, we get arod 2.0

Odds are he wont be, makes choosing bridgewater that much easier
I don't think clowney makes it past the rams pick.  Texans or the Rams will find a trading partner. I wouldnt' be suprised if the falcons trade up since it wont' cost them as much as other teams and they have a track record of moving up to secure talent they think is once every 10 years. See Julio Jones trade.

Ya know I'm gonna check up on ya from time to time to see how the Bridgewater pimping is going in the College sub-forum. They should re-name it Wiseman's Place.........or better yet......Nostradamus's Place.

One time makes a history? I think if anything it means they won't do it again as Dimitroff knows they don't have the luxury to do that again with an old, shallow, oft-injured, expensive team. Especially since Mack and/or Barr will be there for their pick guaranteed.

Enjoy it while you can. I got a feeling that he will quickly vanish once his boy is drafted by another team.

To where???
With all of the talk about smokescreen these days, I think it is worth noting a former head coach who most recently worked for the Texans talked about Johnny Manziel as a possible #1 overall pick. Why would anyone not believe this story, coming from someone who is out of a job?

According to the article, Wade Phillips said he told Bob McNair during his head coach interview in December to pick Manziel. Apparently he thinks that was why he did not get the job. If that is true, the Texans will not pick Manziel.

Once he let those asinine words escape his lips, he was doomed for the unemployment line

Even mcnair knows better

Actually Bill O'Brien fired him. He was not doomed for unemployment, just from being a head coach.

But I have no idea who the new coach wants.

Remember its almost a given when a new coach comes in, he will want his own guys

Mcnair set him up to fail

True, but we have retained assistant coaches.

The interesting thing here is a defensive coordinator recommended an offensive player. Why didn't he endorse Jadeveon Clowney?

while the draft is never a 100% i they can give up a 3rd rounder to move up a couple spots and grab clowney so they actually get pressure on their QB I don't see them not doing it.  And I think browns brass will be smart and use their two draft picks instead of moving up 2 spots, Which will be artificially inflated in price just because there's a "qb" needy team in front of them.  Their team needs are really on the O line, and maybe getting a replacement for Roddy White and Gonzales. But i see them going D first round then grabbing a TE in the second if one is there that's worth the pick, then going O linemen with 3-5
No one is trading up to #2 to get Clowney. The Rams will most likely ask for too much in return and it's not worth it unless you're getting a QB.

Clowney will be there at #3, and we'll pick him, and he'll make the entire defense step their game up just by being there.
