Quote:Why would a team trade that much for Manziel or Brotles? Clowney and Bridgewater are the guys who has had all the hype all year but they say they dont really want them, that would be a bad smoke screen.
In that case they should be saying they like all the players and dont know who they are leaning towards to get somebody to trade up, and not saying they are leaning to the two QBs with the biggest question marks.
They have been talking up every player. They have said they like Teddy, Clowney, Manziel and Bortles at different times since they found out they were getting the #1 pick.
I pray they pass on Clowney. That man will terrorize the NFL on defense for years to come.
This time of year I wouldnt take any report seriously.
Quote:If Teddy doesnt go #1 i can see dave giving up a 3rd or mayble a couple 4s to move up.
Can you share the link though?
I can't.

I dont see Dave trading up for anyone
Dave has said a qb is the most important thing when rebuilding a team. If his guy is there at 2 i strongly believe he could possibly move up. Especially with 3 extra mid round picks i bet hes confident that he can find some value there justifying giving up a 3rd to secure his franchise qb.

sig bet says he doesnt trade up?
Caldwell will trade up to secure Bridgewater if other teams are attempting to make a move
Quote:thr 2 best qb. not surprising

Just happy that we getting Bridgewater and the Texans are not getting Clowney and cripple themselves with a Manziel/Bortles

I'm talking about this report, which is saying they really not looking at Clowney or Bridgewater
If the Texans did take either Bortles or Manziel with the first pick, I do believe the Rams will get quite a few calls for the second pick with Clowney and Bridgewater on the board. I could see Dave trading up to 2 solely if one of the remaining QBs is rated significantly better than the others. My gut says he stays at 3.
I could see a caldwell trade up to # 2 but its likely that if the Texans go Bortles or Manziel with the #1 then the Browns will offer the other first they have to the Rams and ensure they have a choice between Manziel/Bortles and Bridgewater. WHile the Rams again have 2 first round picks.
Personally i think they(Texans) go Manziel with the #1 pick outright.
The part about work ethic concerns made me think of something else.
Remember when Bob McNair said J.J. Watt can fix Jadeveon Clowney's work ethic? Now, he says he likes Johnny Manziel despite Bill O'Brien expressing a concern about his work ethic.
Apparently, McNair likes both Clowney and Manziel because he does not care about their work ethic.
What are the chances it is all smokescreen and he does not like either Manziel or Clowney?
Rumors are rumors. All I can hope for is that we're deciding between Bridge or Clowney. Hopefully at least one of them.

We are deciding among several players. No team is stupid enough to say "this guy or that guy" three months before the draft.

If Teddy is there at 2 sure.

Apparently the Jaguars have, according to Dave Caldwell's comments about hoping a player falls to # 3 overall and the owners comments on drafting 1-2 QB's.
As for myself, I'm more than entitled to my own opinions. Clowney/Bridge = Best players in the draft.

Jadeveon Clowney is the best defensive player
if you don't care about the intangibles. David Caldwell might be thinking of Sammy Watkins, who was mocked to go to the Rams.
