Philip Seymour Hoffman was found dead on the bathroom floor of his apartment, it was reported today.

 

Great actor, troubled soul. May he rest in peace.

Wow, he was a great actor.

I hope he found peace before he passed.

sad, so much talent and it's the drugs that seem to always get them.

Damn. He's one of the best in the business.


What a waste.

Hoffman played a finance executive who was also a heroin addict in Before the Devil Knows Your Dead, and I remember thinking when watching it that he did a great job portraying a "closet junkie". Turns out he was drawing from experience. 23 years sober since rehab in his early 20s, then he falls back about a year ago. Incredibly sad, we lost another genius.

Probably just a large personal stash.  Guys like that don't want to have to "re-up" all the time.  Too much risk.  When they come across a product they like they'll get lots of it.

I enjoyed some of his movies, but no sympathy from me.. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to realize the stuff that'll kill ya..
