I legit saw him do this after Bradford overthrew his man who had smoked Cyp off the line it was disgusting
Cyprien is what he is.  A decent tackler but a liability in coverage.  He is a whipping post.  Average player at best.  Another Caldwell bust.

Cyprien a Top 10 safety?

Quote:For a guy drafted #33 overall, he is a monster disappointment.

Being that pick # 33 was at the very beginning of Round 2,  it's very likely the Jaguars received one or more good trade offers.   Remaining in that spot and not getting enough value from the player you draft is a lost opportunity cost.

He does it quite often. Really irks me when his guy has him beat but the throw is (fortunately) incomplete anyway and he does his little song and dance routine.   *facepalm*
Less than 1% of college football players ever get to play in the NFL.

Saying he's trash is a little harsh in my opinion.

I've always taken some offense to the use of that term to describe players by fans also.

He's a decent box safety that doesn't cover well and shouldn't have been picked before the fifth round. He's not "trash."
NYC...that I can agree with.

Yea, that's my fault. Obviously Cyprien is one of the best athletes on the planet. When I said he is trash, I meant relative to the rest of the NFL. I am well-aware that he is more athletic, rich, and successful than I could ever dream to be.
I like how our fans see every missed tackle and run with the assumption that there are few missed tackles in the league, therefore the player is trash.  Or if Kelce, Allen, Gates, etc make a play, that they only do so against him.

He's had a pretty good year.--Relative to the rest of the safeties in the NFL.  Is he Kam, Waddle, or Earl?  No.  But he's a guy who plays 99% of the snaps on the 4th ranked D.

He's trash because he doesn't have the skillset to play the position he plays at a high level.

The irony of what you mentioned is Seahawks S Kam Chancellor was a 5th Round pick.  And in a similar scheme to the one the Jaguars use, he has played like at least pick # 33 of a draft.  Probably much higher than that.    The Jaguars mind set in 2013 might have been to find the next Chancellor but that's clearly much easier said than done.

He's inconsistent, no one can deny that. I for one don't feel like watching him have an "off day" in the play-offs, if we ever get there.

I hope Jordan James "23" Sample can take over next year. He's been riddled with injuries, and we haven't gotten to see much from him.

He consistently leads the team in missed tackles and has led the league for missed tackles amongst DBs.

Yes, missed tackles happen... He just misses more than basically anyone else.

Consistently.

Ah yes, the next stage of our fandom, that the next guy is always better the current guy, with no evidence other than tub time, and time getting beat in the same fashion driving the complaints.
Quote:Anyone who thinks Cyprien is trash, for the last 3 years, ranked top 5 in the league in DB tackles needs to look in the mirror and see a hater. You don't talk when he causes a goal line fumble, there was not ONE post saying nice job Cyp, for causing a turnover. Keeping 7 off the board. That's big time. But God forbid he miss a tackle that 2 others also missed. The NFL rankings don't lie. His job is to tackle first, and he does it and has done it consistently for 4 years. And he is not a liability in the pass game.

Fans that hate like this on a decent player any team would be happy to get make me ill, and lowers my opinion of a select few in the fan base. So many things wrong, and threads on Cyprien. For 3 years threads proclaiming Cyprien

is trash. Unreal. No wonder our FA tend to washout. No wonder the great ones don't come here. The abuse from the fans is brutal with people sniping 90% of team.

Poz is slow cant cover, Thomas is a bust, Ivory is a bust, Cyprien is trash. Robinson is stone hands. There has been a negative thread about every player on this team.

No, certain fans are the trash and just like to whine. About the wrong players always. We need a coach. Cyprien has a couple good years left.

I have been saying this in many ways for more than a decade. The constant whining about good players who actually are doing their jobs right is nothing but Jaguars hatred. You can't love and hate a team. People need to either stop calling themselves Jaguars fans or stop pretending to be Jaguars haters.

I always consider early round 2 picks first round talents that dropped out of it.That described Marqise Lee coming out of USC. He was a "fell in our lap" picks. When this happens, why would you not want to pick the player falling on your lap? I am seeing it now with the success Lee is having this season.
