Quote:Long arms are needed by Tackles to get the initial punch on a defensive end to knock them off course. Guards deal with more bullrush type moves and so don't need the extra reach.

Still important.  If a DL is locked out on you and you can't get your hands on him, you've just become a rag doll.
Quote:Carr, Matthews, Hoffman, and Mike Davis staying late after practice again to work on routes and timings. All 3 days Carr and Matthews have stayed out, with Hoffman and Davis twice now. No one else on either squad has stayed late.
KY, if I havent said it before, ill say it now, thanks for all the updates. Lots of fun to read. This inspired me to watch practice today and I see why you enjoy it. With that being said,it's good to hear of guys staying late. Carr and Matthews already had the rep of being guys that would be the last ones to leave. That characteristic can be contagious.

Absolutely, as you said it's been fun.
I don't remember if I've mentioned Chris Smith or not, but he has had a nice under the radar week. Maybe the best pure outside rusher after Dee Ford this week.

Steve from PFF this time, never gets old posting em.

I'm sure we have met with more but Walter Football is reporting we have had meetings with:

Jacksonville Jaguars:

C.J. Fiedorowicz, TE, Iowa (SR)

Jimmy Garoppolo, QB, Eastern Illinois (EW)

Yeah, as I posted a few pages ago...we are meeting with every one of the 110 players there. Dave will sit in personally on at least 75% of them.

Nice timing since I just mentioned Chris Smith. Not sure where he is going to go...I would guess we'd have to use our 3rd rounder. Lynch was getting a ton of buzz leading up to the senior bowl as a TE but I haven't seen a ton about him since it started. Haven't studied Coleman at all so I don't have any input there.

That's right, I remember your post.

Sorry bout that.

Nice snippets coming out about a lot of the guys we've been talking about the last page or two.

Both guys I'm a fan of. Especially Norwood, I think he'll have a better NFL career than college career

Quote:Just love reading how so many people are talking about the North team (especially the QB) stagnating, while the South squad looks leaps and bounds better by the day.

Proof is in the pudding. Explains why we were able to win 4 games against more superior rosters. This is one really good coaching staff that gets the most out of their players.

Shhhh! Stop saying positive things like that. It goes against a certain persons agenda.

Well if what he's saying is true, I guess it will translate to an easy win for the South, right?

All this tweeting about who the Jags coaches like could tip off other teams when it comes to the draft causing us to miss out on some of those players.

Mike Davis is very underrated to me.  Very athletic and quick.  But has been saddled with really lousy QB play at Texas.

Sorry.....I just can't help myself sometimes. (-:

Yep, he's one of the best deep threats in the draft...but has looked completely lost when asked to do anything except run a 9 or a post. Would still be just fine day 3 pick as a TY Hilton deep threat package guy early on.
