You aren't drafting Kelvin Benjamin for his drops.
Quote:True, but it also means he doesn't have as many drop opportunities since he is usually making contested catches, and they don't really give out drops to contested balls that aren't caught. You have to be pretty wide open for a drop to be counted as a drop, and he doesn't create the separation for a whole lot of wide open catches.
This is Boyd at quarterback.
How anybody can write off or have a QB climb in 2 days at the Senior Bowl is beyond me.

If you think Carr sucks for example, then the Senior bowl better not change your mind.  Unless a QB has real fear about getting hit and sacked, almost everything else doesn't matter.

We already have a guy that can look very impressive in practice.

Excellent thread, great info from everyone, thanks. Kudos especially to KYJaggy.

I have hope that it doesn't get derailed by the usual infighting and lasts through the Sunday post- Senior Bowl discussion. This is good stuff, especially for those of us who don't watch college football much. I've made a lot of notes off this thread and expanded my player knowledge for the draft significantly.
Quote:Trade for Mallet and Clowney in the first. Draft a QB in the mid-rounds for insurance. Sounds like a plan.

I think this could easily happen give up a 2nd for mallet who O'Brien knows. If McDaniels goes to the brown they could get in on the Mallet trade also.
Several interesting things from the roster watch twitter last night:

5. The inside scoop from his hometown of Mobile is that A.J. McCarron is a MAJOR character liability.

2. @seniorbowl No.84 North Roster- Abbrederis- We just call him abra-cadabra because he's magic. #Badgers

1. DT Aaron Donald of Pitt currently appears to be the top player at #SeniorBowl

Word is that he's dating outside the family, and that he can't call a duck.

Man, these Jax reporters really do get around.  Khan must be a busy guy "planting" all these stories.  :teehee:
Someone's hidden gem from that post is looking good today, Christian Kirskey from Iowa. Him and Borland are both failing the eye test but continue to just make plays all week.

About halfway through practice and Morris has been the best North QB so far, but that's not saying much. Boyd continues to look completely lost. Logan Thomas getting Terrelle Pryor in Big Ben's body comps.

Ahmad Dixon still making plays during practice too, but looks kinda stiff during drills.

where's the tweets about the mediocre assistant coaches?
I can see it now, our GM/ coaches are going to buy into Carr from these stupid practices and thats going to be who we draft in May. You watch.

3 more years of garbage at QB.

Negative nelly

I love how you concoct your worst case scenario then act like it's really going to happen.

Call me whatever you want - watch and learn - what I just said up there is going to happen. You can start to sense it.

well whatever he can do to deflect attention from those positive tweets about Gus from the national media

Not really hard to concoct...the Jags apparently aren't that high on Bridge or Manziel, surely stemming from the one game they went to and he was lackluster.....and now they coach Carr in the senior bowl and "of course" he's doing well in practice (like Gabbert), so the Jags people will obviously buy into it....

We're headed down the Derek Carr road. and, thus, more losing seasons.

just like we reached for a QB last year?

lol at you being convinced that we'd overreach on a good practice player like Gabbert when we just saw Henne take the job last year because he was better on gameday

either they like Carr enough to take him at #3 overall or they don't, 1 week of practice isn't changing that
