The fact that we are sitting on top of all of this extra money and have the ability to significantly improve this roster literally overnight, but yet still continue to do nothing with it, disturbs me.

Then - When Free Agency begins on March 11 - I bet we'll see one or two players signed before the end of that week and another two or three signed 2-4 weeks later.
By mid- April we'll have some upgrades.

But than again, KC is just a one-hit wonder and Denver is going to experience salary cap "hell" in the next few years.

I guarantee it.

Please name the free agents Denver signed.
I'm pretty sure they didn't throw money around like it's going out of style.

Agree.
Caldwell already outlined his strategy.
Sign a small handful of targeted impact guys very early.
Then, let things cool and look for value later, too. IIRC that's how we picked up Marks for what turned out to be a bargain. Before earning his extension that is... lol. Point being, patience can pay off later, when you expect to overpay when you get involved early.
We've got the resources to do both, and it won't be wasted if they target the right players who can make an immediate impact.

Not to mention the trades for Alex Smith, Anthony Sherman, and A.J. Jenkins.
In the end what did they achieve from this? The Chiefs had one of the most epic collapses of all time against the Colts. And the Seahawks mopped the floor with the Broncos in the Super Bowl.
Reminds me of the Coughlin years when we spent all that money and traded for all those players to try and get to the Super Bowl...We all know how that turned out in the end.

I would love it if we could sign Michael Bennett as a FA pass rusher that we desperately need, but he's asking for a pretty high price. It will be real interesting to see what Caldwell does.

Did you not just advocate spending our money in an effort to "upgrade the roster overnight?" This would seem to counter that argument...

I'm glad I'm not the only one that noticed he's backtracking and talking out both sides of his mouth. Unless he's just confused about what kind of point he really is trying to make, and is therefore arguing both sides.
