I hadn't seen this posted here anywhere.  This story has been on my nerves since hearing it.

People are calling for the judge to lose her job, though she's retiring soon.  The psychiatrist should probably be sued by the families too.  I'm sure he got some money from this deal.  Usually I'm not one for suing people, but this is a case where I think it should happen (I know that Couch's parents are facing lawsuits now.  Which is a great way to cure their affluenza -- take away all their money.  Maybe then they won't be able to afford the posh rehab facility that includes horseback riding)

Quote from the interview from Anderson Cooper:

<p style="font-size:14px;color:rgb(0,0,0);font-family:Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif;">COOPER: “He killed four people, yes?”

<p style="font-size:14px;color:rgb(0,0,0);font-family:Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif;">MILLER: “Four people died.”

<p style="font-size:14px;color:rgb(0,0,0);font-family:Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif;">COOPER: “Well, no, four people didn’t just magically die, he slammed his vehicle into four people.

They need to sue him...and beat the snot out of him for good measure!
Affluenza?

How embarrassing. Stories like this are why other countries see us the way they do.

As for that fool saying jail would not be the best thing for the kid? When is jail ever the best thing for anybody? Rarely, if ever, is it's purpose is to be the best thing for someone.

Are you sticking up for the murderer? Probably. This country seems to do that the best, too.
Justice for sale

How you possibly think I'm sticking up for the murderer is beyond me. Seriously?

Sickening, isn't it???

Yet, there are seriously people defending this.

Ok, I misread your post.. Apologies.
Wait, so affluenza means "being too rich to care about the consequences" (or something..)?

I'm ashamed to admit, for a brief moment I was wondering just what the hell kind of role the flu could play in getting out of a fatal DUI.
I couldn't imagine what the husband of the wife and daughter who were killed is going through, especially with how it's panned out.

Affluenza Teen Ethan Couch now on the lam.

Four people killed, and the kid gets rehab (mostly paid for by the state, of course) and is now on the run.  Hopefully this winds him up in jail--where he belonged in the first place.

We all wish for karma but the truth of the matter is this little reprobate will most likely sail through life.
I hope this idiot gets maxed now for the love of God.

I saw this story on Dateline a while back. The kid is an absolute spoiled brat, and the parents allowed it and enabled the behavior.

I am pretty sure I saw on the news yesterday that the kid and the mother have fled the country.

Well that's not the case, now.

They're being detained in Mexico, awaiting US Marshals to pick them up.
He's gonna be Little Miss Affluenza soon.

He's in a Mexican prison right now...that would be Senorita Affluenza to you!!
Young Kid like that Is NOT going to have an easy time in prison. Especially after they find out what got him off in the first place.

Apparently he only faces a maximum 120 days in prison?  That doesn't make sense to me.  I thought the Texas Legal system wasn't a joke.
