The only thing I like to see scramble is an egg.

Yes.  Maybe.

If Bridgewater is gone, I'd gladly take Manziel.

He does not fit Caldwells prototypical QB. Look who we have as QB BG big and tall big arm, Look who Caldwell went out and got and put ahead of scott, Stanzi Big and Tall big arm. Now look at manzell Not real small but smaller then you think and not a big arm and likes to run to much not a pocket passer. I could be wrong but im just looking at what Caldwell has filled this team with at QB it is his first year and he can always change his direction depending on how the OC wants to go.
I was initially against Manziel as a Jaguar, but it was close.  His bowl performance has pushed the needle over.  I think he'd be a better fit for us than Bortles.  He is worth the risk I think.  Especially considering this QB class where you can find traditional protype QBs in the later rounds to develop as a backup.

Consider a Manziel/Murray combo like a RGIII/Cousins combination, without trading away a draft worth of selections.  Though, I wouldn't disagree with starting Henne this year and letting Manziel study the playbook.

I'm ok with either Teddy, Manziel, or Bortles. Pretty exciting that one of them I guaranteed to be there when we pick. Hopefully one that Caldwell likes...

Really? Did you even read the article?

We have BG but that does not mean at all thats who Fisch really wants. He was a hold over from the worst GM in history. Manziel has a big arm and can make any throw you ask of him.

Who cares about how tall or big someone is. If Fisch could have Brees, you think he would turn him down because hes not big and tall?

Agreed, I'd be mad if we went any other route honestly.

THIS!!

Use one of the picks we got from the Monroe deal to pick up Murray and let him develop whilst Manziel shows us what he's got, if Manziel works out like we hope, keep him and trade Murray or keepem as a backup.
Manziel is gonna get broken by an NFL linebacker.

I was speaking of how Caldwell approaches the QB position not Fisch. And it is only my opinon form observation. I did say if the OC (fisch) thought a different direction was warrented its possible Caldwell could change his mind and go that way.
I'm just not sure. Combine might quell some of my fears regarding his size and speed. He doesn't cower from contact like Gabbert, but if he wants a long career he needs to learn to slide more and run out of bounds. He hasn't had to play under center or run a pro offense. I'll need to review more of his performances but it seems he'll look at Evans then one other receiver, if neither is open he scrambles out of the pocket. Needs to be more patient and make more progressions. He does keep his eyes downfield, but sometimes he leaves the pocket too soon
Excellent points in the article... I think our big board should be as follows:

1. Teddy

2. Manziel

3. Clowney

4. Watkins

Put Bridgewater or Manziel behind the NFL's worst offensive line?

The problem with the late season 4-4 surge the Jaguars had is it began to make less knowledgeable football fans believe the Jaguars aren't so bad. What we saw in reality was any number of unmotivated, sluggish players supernova attempting to fight off their own demise.

Doesn't matter which ordinary, NON-elite quarterback you want the Jaguars to take.

The stubborn fact is our offensive line is the worst in the NFL. There's a crumple factor at quarterback just as there has been for the past six years.

Bridgewater and Manziel should go to an offense that can carry the weight of a fresh-faced rookie QB.

Meanwhile, we keep to the process of developing Blaine Gabbert. At year four, he should be prepared by the franchise and treated as the starting quarterback. The Jaguars can draft a quarterback much later than round three.

We need to focus on drafting elite talent. Best player available regardless of position.

Nothing wrong with Jake Matthews or Taylor Lewan at the three spot.

Have to refute this point about his progressions. He has improved drastically in this regard this year, and a good deal of that can be seen during his bowl game.

HOLY CRAP that reminds me. Bowl season is over... I got a lotsa writing to do.
Pass, not a fan of Manziel.

If the Jags take Matthews at 3, I expect Caldwell will be fired by 2015.
