I wanna like Bortles but he has too many head-scratching throws. I'd like to see If thats a mechanics issue that can be ironed out or if he's just a wild thrower like Michael Vick is
Quote:he had 1 against Memphis...by far his worst statistical game...one against Houston...Against S. Methodist he didn't have any passing TDs but had 2 rushing so I wouldn't count that one as a blank game for him.  Also I don't think I would say he was ineffective against Houston either...he went 17/24 for 210 yards (70.8% comp) with one INT for a 136.0 QB rating...so while not great not a horrible game either.  I also forgot to mention that he played SC too...and only lost by 3 points...

When you look at him and Teddy and you compare their numbers against the same opponents he is even with Teddy on most and better on some...once again I am not saying he is better than Teddy or we should draft him...I just think he is getting a lot of hate all of a sudden.

Theres hate & then theres concerns. I haven't seen any Bortles "hate".
I like Bortles but he doens't have anywhere the ceiling of a Flacco, Bridgewater has a stronger arm than him and the only thing he has is size

Didn't teddy have some pedestrian games down the road as well. And for the record Miami's pass defence is ranked 85th and run 74th vs Baylor's run defense 38 and pass 31 so I think Bortles had a bit more of a challenge in his game. And he came back from two picks to take control of the game. Bortles did more on a worse team, while over achievingteam, still a worse team than L Ville and Beat a better team that L Ville played in their bowl game.

UCF coming is a better overall team than Louisville

Flacco's from Millville, NJ near where I'm from......he didn't look so great coming out of college.....but we know his upside after the fact. I think Bortles may have a high ceiling
@ TMD (I can't quote for some reason)...you're right...hate is probably a strong word...and I agree...I don't know if he is top #3 worthy...but he had played decently and numbers wise is not that far off from Teddy B.

Thought UCF was considered having a weak defence ask year that just over achieved in key games

True, offensively through they are more balanced. Storm Johnson is a monster
Gotta say guys, I want no part of Bortles. If both Teddy and Johnny are off the board, take Clowney. But please not Bortles. Got a bad feeling about him.

What makes someone a "draft expert" anyway? Is that a self given title or do people give it to him? Anybody claiming Bortles as the top pick is no expert.

1. Clowney

2. Carr or Boyd??

Carr is in the same line of toilet stalls as Bortles. He has been put on a pedestal on these boards.

Who knows. It's his job. He gets paid for ir. He is apparently well connected with the NFL scout community. In the end....it's still an opinion.

A possibility.....Clowney will be a prize......think someone will trade up for him

I think he's worth a 2 same as Bortles.

Pauline is a pretty good one, mostly due to his connections with nfl FOs.. He was the only one who called us picking Tyson Alualu in 2010 (and who else would) but from a scouting perspective he's not too bad
I wouldn't touch Carr before round four. Once he feels the pressure, his passing becomes severely erratic. He lets the pass rush affect him.

He called that pick? Impressive because youre right, no one would have thought we'd reach that foolishly. Still angry over that draft...Thanks Gene
I agree with everything he said, except Teddy is #1 and Bortles is #2.
