I want the same thing pretty much....not sure about Bortles tho. But I want Clowney and Bortles to have great games. I want Mariota and Hundley both to come out. The more this happens, the harder it will be for St. Louis to trade down. Teams will be less likely to give up the farm to St. Louis again if there will be high quality players falling to them.

No doubt in my mind that is Gus' preferred QB.
Its basically Russell Wilson. (mobility wise anyway).

There is definitely risk involved, bur I am all for it.
He is the opposite of Gabbert. That does it for me. He would make the QB position exciting to watch again.
Plus he's an [BAD WORD REMOVED]. There are players out there that everybody in the world hates- unless that player is on your team.
I don't remember the Jags having a player like that, and truthfully I think if enjoy that quite a lot.
So put me down for being on board with Manziel.
If the Jaguars take him and he succeeds...he would seem to be the Jaguars' answer to Jim McMahon.
If he provided that kind of spark to the team, I'd like it.
But I still want no part of him at this stage.

That clip... Amazing. Simply amazing.

More like, simply Russell Wilson....
and you know how Gus loves everything Seattle and is trying to carbon copy that model.

I don't know, man. I don't think Wilson has that sixth sense, at least not to the degree Manziel does.

I remember seeing a similar play to that one last year (2012) by Russell Wilson, I think it was against San Fran in one of their games vs them.

What a lot of people don't see in that clip is that the guy who caught the ball was wide open earlier because his defender was baiting Manziel. The kid stayed patient. Rush came. Moved up in the pocket. Escaped. Drew the receiver's defender toward him. And threw it over him for the TD. If he hadn't been patient.....3 or 4 yd. gain.

Too bad nfl defenses won't blow coverage like dook...nice clip...doesn't translate to the pros.

Huh?NFL defenses blow coverages all the time

No but extended the play does translate. Come to think of it....NFL defenders make wrong decisions all the time.....just not as much. If they don't leave their defender, he can get 5 or 7 yards and slide. Once in the NFL....slide he will.

Not sure, but Gus seems to have carte blanche with so many of the other moves (Seattle influenced)
Personally, I'd rather have Caldwell make the QB decision independent of Gus' as Caldwell is the personnel guy not Gus. Gus' job is to coach.

You're right....the speed is a major adjustment for everyone.....he will make a lot of rushers miss....he will be able to buy time for his receivers....something Gabbert and Henne cannot do. Will he be able to still run wild? No way. Not in the NFL. He still will get the occasional 20 yard run like Brunell and Garrard used to do.
