Like say is the FSU defense really THAT good? To hold a Duke team who can easily put over 40 on A&M, to only 7 points in their game. Or is the A&M defense really that bad. Allowing a Duke team who can only score 7-points against FSU, over 40...Y'know what I'm saying?
Either way I agree. Cucliffe is easily the best coach in college football who nobody is talking about for the big jobs(like Texas).
FSU has a great defense....if FSU played against the A&M defense, they'd get 100pts.

Big 3rd and 8 on defense!
01-01-2014, 12:08 AM
Damn....1st down....just can't stop Duke
01-01-2014, 12:10 AM
Unbelievable......another first down on 3rd and 11

Watching A&M is like watching Jeckel and Hyde.
The offense is so amazing, arguably the best in college football at times.
While the defense is so inept, it's almost like they want the other team to score just to keep it interesting.

Yes, FSU's defense is that good.
No homer.

Another 3rd down completion for a 1st down.....A&M just can't stop em

Quote:Who said anything about basing it on this one game? Cutcliffe is one hell of an offensive mind and can actually ID real QBs unlike Mack Brown. By all rights, he should've been Fat Phil's successor at Tennessee when he was the OC, but they never even looked his way.So what's the deal? Why isn't he considered for "better" jobs?
He built this Duke team from literal ASHES and while yeah, it's the ACC, it's still a hell of an accomplishment to win 10 football games this day and age at freakin' DUKE.
Is it his age? Does he like it where he is and doesn't want to do the big-time recruiting chore?
When people like P. Manning sing your praises you'd think he'd be coaching at a much higher profile football factory.

4th 3rd down in a row....c'mon stop em
01-01-2014, 12:13 AM
Frickin unbelieveable

TD Blue Devils......gotta give Boone credit on that drive......had 4 4th downs in a row and made them

I'd love to see a Texas or Penn State pick him up right now. But either way, if he can keep Duke in the top 25 like this for another year or two, he'll be the next hot coaching commodity for sure. I like him.

Manziel is a terrible defender

6:46 left.......that drive really hurt....it's a 2 score game
01-01-2014, 12:18 AM
Yes, it's a team game.
Yes, it's not a given that college ball will translate to the NFL.
But like others have stated, I'm warming up to the idea of Manziel being worthy of Caldwell's consideration (even at #3).
I wasn't ready to commit to that previously, but he is fun to watch. Extremely entertaining.
And the NFL is about entertainment. And winning. Johnny Football has me convinced about the first part. And I'm leaning in his direction regarding the second part.

They need to play him on both sides of the ball

How old is he, do you know? Seems that he's been around forever. Could that be perceived as a negative? A lot of these football factories want to next Young Guy On The Way Up.

What a dime!!!

And that's what a team like the Jaguars need. Wins are obvious. But it wouldn't hurt to also have sold out games every game, be the most talked about team on espn, have the highest selling jersey in the nation, most watched team, most popular player, etc, etc...
