First time I watched him was against Utah State or whomever they played for the title. I thought he looked like pure garbage and was laughed at by those standing behind him.

Now now...he's welcome to come to Jax while playing for the Texans, anytime.

Depends on if Todd McShay decides to hype him for a day again. He basically controls the minds of a lot of fans as far as whether or not someone is good.

I'll take Teddy, Bortles, or Fales.

It isn't even 2014 yet...the debate hasn't even truly begun yet.

Was not impressed with what I've seen of Fales. He's less impressive than Carr and I don't like Carr.

Carr actually had an offensive weapon. Fales was basically playing with high schoolers. I'm not saying he is worth a first round pick but he has good mechanics, decision making, and size. He can also make most NFL throws though his arm strength is questionable.

I wouldn't mind taking Bortles in the 1st and Fales in the 4th. Henne isn't going to help our rookie QB with anything. We may need to keep Gabbert and tell the rookie to do the opposite

yeah, thats the thing, his arm looked noticeably weak to me, and I usually am not one to make a big deal of that, so for me to notice, it just gave me pause regarding Fales. His delivery looked a little funky to me too, but he did seem accurate. I also didn't think his size was more than about average/ adequate. Isn't he like 6' 2, 215 ish?

Yeah, I wouldn't mind Fales as a 2nd QB taken. I hope we do draft 2 QB this offseason. One for the immediate starter and the other as a developmental type. I wouldn't mind Murray with a day 3 pick.

I don't think it's actual arm weakness so much as bad footwork. A lot of his floating/wobbly passes come from him not stepping into throws. There are various gifs here where you can see him actually putting weight on his front foot and making the pass;

Dan Kadar has no idea what he is doing when it comes to QBs though. Him and Fairburn basically refused to not have three QBs in the top 10 last year.

How many of those scouts work for a team picking in the top 10? Because otherwise it means nothing. It could also be smoke.

That Minnesota game is actually a really good game to look at Fales' arm. You see some throws which show he has more arm strength than most think. A lot of the arm strength questions I think come from the fact that Fales intentionally takes some off balls. You see some deep seam routes where he puts a lot of zip on the ball. You see some deep outs where he zips it and some where he takes some off. One throw went at least 54 or 55 yards in the air. His arm is no worse and no better than average.
