Quote:C'mon, really? Chik-Fil-A serves great food? Is this serious talk, or do you all mean "in comparison to other fast foods." That I can believe. IMO, the traditional Chik-Fil-A sandwich needs a lot of doctoring to be eaten without choking.

I get the spicy chicken sandwich with the waffle fries. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmm!!!

Wow, you have some high flown tastes.   Don't think fast food is good?    Fast food is GREAT.   I'd take a fresh cooked Whopper any day of the week.
Quote:Doctoring? What do you have to do to it to make it palatable? I like their sandwiches...

Every chicken sandwich I've ever bought there was so dry it choked me. Just battered and fried breast meat topped by a pickle in a white bread bun. I guess it's better than a Big Mac. Oh, well, maybe I kept getting bad ones. It's not an issue for me, I haven't been in a shopping mall for years. I doubt I'll get a chance to sample another Chik-Fil-A sandwich.

We have a Mom and Pop grill here that makes a burger that will make you forget a Whopper ever existed. It is cheaper than a Whopper, you get it hot and nearly as fast, and the meat is identifiable as beef.

Elitist snob.

We actually have free standing Chickfilas down here with drive-thrus and everything! No need to go to a mall anymore!! Banana

Maybe that's why you don't like their food...your CFA is stuck in a time warp!! The sandwiches I get from there are always moist and tasty!

Hah! See, WingerDinger, I'm not the only one!!!

Although, for me its the Double Whopper w/ cheese.

If you get one thats fresh off the grill, theres not a better burger in the (fast food) business.

Yep, we have a bunch up here where I live.

Their chicken sandwiches are never dry like he's saying. Maybe he's just intentionally trying to give Chick Fil A some bad press. :whistling:

Before I got married, I lived on Whoppers.  I'd go to the drive through, and the person taking my order would say, "You want the usual?"   Which was always, a Whopper with cheese, a fish filet sandwich, and a large diet coke.

I stayed away from french fries, or shakes.   Those will kill you.   But I never had any health problems as a result of living on Whoppers.

Naw...sounds like he's dealing with some old school stuff...probably not being ran like corporate and not staying with the company standards or something.

I admit it, I'm in a time warp. I haven't eaten food from a CFA in about 10 years The nearest free standing location is about 50 miles away. The best BBQ joint in the same town is a block away. Guess where I get lunch if I "go to town"?

Believe me, when I depict TMD as a relic I draw from personal experience.

Chik-Fil-A, Regency Mall IIRC.

Well then, in the name of science and all that...next time you're in that area, you should get some CFA just to see what the rest of us are talking about! You don't wanna be out of the loop do you? Big Grin

They also have one of the drive thru kinds right down the street from there!

I haven't been inside that mall in forever!! I'm shocked it's still open

I'm ok with it. It makes my posts that much less relevant, all part of my plan of world message board domination. Do you want me to create a new thread here?

Why will the fries kill you more so than the Whopper? I'm a novice when it comes to food/ nutrition.

The last time I ate at CFA, I was in the mall with my girlfriend's daughter. We had just watched a movie at the multiplex and my van wouldn't start. I had to get it towed and catch a bus home to Riverside. We were strolling through the mall looking for a bus schedule when one of two young men behind us said, in a tone just loud enough for me to hear, "you're in my way, man". With a 13 year old with me I wasn't about to confront or argue with him, so I let him pass, meeting his stare but saying nothing.

We grabbed a chicken sandwich and ate it at the bus stop. I think that was the only time I ever felt actually threatened when I lived in Jacksonville. Maybe that's why the sandwich didn't taste good.

When culling any meal in an attempt to make it healthier, start with potatoes.

I stopped going to that mall when I was shopping for my son and walked through the area of the food court and there were groups of people standing on either side of the mall staring down each other and they were all dressed up in long coats...while I was in shorts because it was still warm! Nothing happened that day...but that's the first time in my life I was really scared and felt like I was fixing to get in the middle of a shoot out!! Haven't been there since!!
