Quote:It's crazy when you look at it, this team for the most part doesn't have many missing pieces, just a glaring one at QB and some other bits and pieces. And super bad luck.
People need to stop acting like one bad year makes Blake Bortles a bad QB. Wait until we get new coaches who can fix his mechanics.

I would take Romo here in an instant. It's too bad there is no way in hell he would want to play here.

I'm pointing out that for a team pretty darn well rounded, it's sad we are 2 - 10 and a HUGE part of the reason is Bortles. Don't be delusional.

Jags sign Romo for 2-3 years at 20 mil a year.
Romo injured after 3 games and gets put on IR with another back injury.
Forum blows up and rips the GM for going after Romo and paying him all that money.

One bad year does not make a bad quarterback. I know Bortles deserves a lot of blame for losses this year, but D6 agrees with me you have to spread it around (see my "worst nightmare" thread).

Ha!
I wouldn't blame a GM for taking a shot on Romo. He's an incredible passer and didn't start until he was older. So yes he is on the wrong side of 30 but he didn't start in the NFL early either.

Punt returners muffing nearly every punt.
Receivers regressing and dropping easy passes.
Stupid penalties. etc etc
This team has found a new way to beat themselves every week, which is rather impressive in a very sad way.

Any GM who takes a chance on him is desperate because of his injury history.

Three muffed punts is not nearly every punt. You know that.
As for running backs, first we need linemen who can help them get to the goal line.
Stupid penalties are not a new way to beat ourselves. We do it every single week.

37 years old with a crippled back is not a good look.

Who would have thought Lee would be the teams best receiver this year? Yeldon is doing very little. Yes, Bortles has regressed but others have underperformed as well

And he would have played all 16 games last year if he did not have a bad collarbone.

Romo was one of the great maybe not next year but he is still very good.

In one season.
When did we muff three punts in a single game?

He was never in the same class as Tom Brady.

BTW, that fumble at the goal line is very debatable!
