Quote:Well my girlfriend went into labor about halfway thru the second quarter so I haven't really looked at anything regarding the team the past few days.
Hope everything went well.  Hopefully congratulations are in order??

The quote was from several weeks ago anyway. His changing of the OC clearly addressed the subject of that quote.

Yep! Baby girl. Hopefully another Jags fan in the making. I'm just hoping they turn it around sooner than later so she doesn't have to see what's going onnow.

Congrats!
Quote:It's taken very out of context (but still a bad thing for a coach to say.)

IIRC it was addressing one of two things specifically during a press conference.

It was either about the inability to get pressure on the QB after trying multiple blitzes, stunts and personnel groupings  --  or it was regarding the run blocking failures after trying a number of different scheme tweaks and various ways of using the TEs and RBs.

It was the first one, but contextually it applies to why this team can't win. Gus has reached the limit of his knowledge and ability and nothing can help that except getting someone else.

Changing the OC didn't help, because he wasn't the problem.

Ditto on the congrats!

Thanks! I'm excited!

Thank you! It's been awesome.

I don't argue that Bradley is a big source of the team's woes.  Just pointing out the context.

He really wasn't. Like we are still trying that handoff out of shotgun. It's the same thing over and over again. Changing this HC is the First thing that has to be done.

I hope she has the best of health!

The ideal situation for you is that she can't comprehend the Jaguars situation from the last 9 seasons much like many young Patriots fans can't comprehend their team's situation from the early 1990's.

Yes, if it was concerning the pass rush as you noted, the OC change didn't address it.  Though the pass rush has improved since the quote was made.

Again - not excusing Bradley here.

I'm with you, just frustrated by the lost year.

Me too.  It's mind-numbing to see the stupid mistakes week in and week out and feel certain that a better coach could have this roster making fewer of them.
Quote:The NFL doesn't "move on" that fast.   I agree that if you built a team for 1969, and it's 2019, that won't work, but 3 years?   No, it doesn't move that fast.

That's what I would have thought until now.  But the whole franchise is off.  The whole team is off.  They are breaking basic league parity somehow.  The NFL does change gradually, sometimes in ways that probably aren't obvious.  For instance, the formula of how to win a Super Bowl changes depending on who won it last. And teams are built to ultimately compete for a Super Bowl.  But there is even obvious change, such as the return game and extra points.   The point is it doesn't go from 1969 to 2019 overnight.  Change is happening all the time, trends are changing all the time, gimmicks and fads come and go depending on how effective they are on a weekly basis.  I'm not saying for sure this explains anything, but other more direct explanations also don't seem to fully explain what has has been happening to the Jaguars the past decade.  The Jaguars just always seem to be out of tune with the rest of the NFL.
"Camp Cupcake" was brilliant. Says it all.
As bad as the Jags have been every year under Bradley every year there has been a worse team. Just saying. It ain't just us.

Oehsers Curse, The Indians, and Marino used voodoo on us. We have three curses going on at the same time.

On a lighter note,  that,  combined with your screen names reminded me of Colts ILB Edwin Jackson's nickname,  which is a classic for a LB:   ' Pound Cake' !
