Starting next year we'll have 4 teams in a playoff.  Ironically this year everybody seems pretty content with an FSU-Auburn title game.  Next year I think choosing 4 will create more controversy than a 2 team BCS will.  Anyways, who would your 4 teams be and how would you seed them?  How do you pick them?  Based on who you think is best?  Based on winning conference?  Based on number of losses?  Some fleeting combination?

FSU and Auburn would be locks.  But who would the remaining two be?  Alabama who is still arguably the best team in the country but not a conference winner?  Baylor a one loss Big12 champ?  Mich St a one loss Big10 champ?  Stanford, a 2 loss Pac12 champ?

I'd pick...

FSU

Auburn

Alabama

Stanford

The first thee are easy for me.  The 4th is the hardest.  I realize Stanford has two losses but I think they would beat Mich St and Baylor on a neutral field.  And I'll overlook the two losses as their schedule was significantly harder.  In fact Sagarin has it as one of the 5 hardest in the country.

I'd seed them...

#1 FSU vs #4 Bama

#2 Auburn vs #3 Stanford

I still think Bama is the best team but dont want to seed them above Auburn.  And dont want a re-match of the Iron Bowl in round 1.  Maybe its a tough first round matchup for FSU but hey they havent played anybody really good all year.  Beat two good teams.

If the playoff were this year?

FSU

Auburn

Alabama

Ohio State

Ohio State falls from #2 to #4 after their loss to MSU

Stanford has 2 losses, one of them being to Utah. They cannot be #4

Osu would get killed by any of those three....just stick to scheduling creampuffs to go along with the weak conference....maybe they can watch the big boys playing top ten teams beat each other up and luck their way into the the playoff....but I doubt it.

Hate on the BIG 10 and tOSU all you want, but if you think the #2 team is going to fall lower than #4, you're delusional, and letting your hatred cloud your judgement.

Has the BIG 10 left a lot to be desired this year? Sure they have, but this sin't the NFL, things change from year to year... Like Auburn who was so terrible last year that they weren't even ranked. Yet this year, they're playing for a national championship.

Stop touting the "Ohio State would get killed by team x,y, and z" because you don't know that for a fact, so don't claim it as a fact. When is the last time Ohio State played any of the three teams mentioned above? Recent enough that you can "know" that they would get blown out of the water? ...please.

Check your zipper, your SEC bias is showing.

you'd have Ohio St in over Mich St?  Mich St who won the conference, won the head to head, has the same record against essentially the same schedule?
When has osu beaten a top team in the past two years? They faced one last night and look how it turned out.

MSU definitely deserves to be in more than the tree nuts.

I am no fan of the $EC.
Bama

Auburn

FSU

Baylor

Mich St. is equally worth in my eyes, but nobody moves up 6 spots from 10 to 4, not even if you beat #1

A closely fought game that was decided by 10 pts?

tOSU shot themselves in the foot, and was clearly out coached, and out played. That being said, I wouldn't say that MSU is any less deserving, it's just practical based on their positioning in the polls.

MSU has two losses, cry "schedule" all you want, but they lost to South Carolina (a 2 loss team who lost to unranked Georgia, and unranked Tennessee) and to Auburn. They don't "deserve" it more.

But a team that hasn't beaten a top 15 ranked team will only drop to 4?...take another hit off that pipe.
Conference champs:

Florida State

Auburn

Stanford

Michigan State

Which only means Auburn> SC> MSU> osu...

At least MSU has the balls to schedule good teams.

Oh yeah, they were really vying for that A+ schedule rating when they scheduled games against the powerhouses of:

Murray State

Toledo

Indiana

Arkansas State

Vanderbilt

Kentucky

Rolleyes

Did you lose a girlfriend to a Buckeye recently?

:thanks:
My God this Buckeye fan is delusional. Ohio State doesn't have the horses to keep up with FSU, Auburn, Bama, and probably Stanford. Those teams are far too physical, and the speed edge clearly is in favor of FSU, Bama, and Auburn.

And Ohio State fell to 7th and 6th in the polls LOL.

The official polls have yet to be released.

Even so, I'm not surprised to see that the SEC favoring media, or the BIG 10 hating media, whichever you prefer (My god, I sound like JungleCat), would have a 2 loss Stanford ahead oh tOSU, along with Baylor ranked above tOSU. Alabama situated at 3 despite not even playing in a conference championship game.

That's what ESPiN has been clamoring for all year. Auburn, Bama, FSU, and Baylor all ranked above tOSU.

Stop saying what tOSU can and can't do. I'd wager the only tOSU game you've seen this year is against MSU. Until they actually play eachother, it's just speculation, not fact.

MSU, by the way hadn't let up a run of more than 20 yrds all season (IIRC) and let up several to tOSU.

The official polls are out, chief.

And I've watched Ohio State play Northwestern, some of Illinois, most of Michigan, and part of the game last night, and I've seen all I need to see. You Ohio State fans are out of your mind if you think you stand a chance against anyone ranked ahead of you.

Again you're dabbling in theory.

Did anyone expect auburn to beat bama? Most did not. Yet now, they're an unbeatable powerhouse?

I've never said tOSU will definitely win, I just want to watch them play.

Save for 2 miracles, Auburn wouldn't even be in the top 15

If you say the AP polls are the real deal. So be it.

I'll wait for the BCS polls tonight.
