Quote:I do like his play style.. it's just the fact that we're talking about a REALLY small school with terrible competition. Worries me a bit.

Me too. That's why it will be good to see him up against some good competition today and at the senior bowl.
Has anyone else seen what this dude looks like? Pretty sure he's Clark Kent.

A true face of the franchise. We could have the prettiest QB in the league.

I guess we need a new face of the franchise if MJD leaves.

He played pretty well today, If the same thing happens in the SB than i expect we wont have a real shot at him, I also dont believe he is worth a 1 or 2 round pick. but thats me.

True
Tbh, If he really blows up the senior bowl I wouldn't mind taking him in the second and addressing the Pass rush in the first if Barr or clowney are there. After watching him compared to Mccarron and boyd and the Qbs they're saying will be around in the second I like Jimmy's throwing motions the best, I'm gunna watch some film on him tonight to see how he does on the deep balls (I had to leave at half time so I i only saw two series left)

And by in the second I feel we could possibly trade down in the second land another draft pick and still get him in the last second.

He did OK, but he also had some really awful throws.

He helped himself only a little bit today.  I don't think he's pushing round 1-2 as of yet.

If he impresses more during the senior bowl and combine, that may change.

I think he goes in the 3rd.

We have to take him at 39 if we want him. He'll be gone before our third rounder.

We'll see how he fares in the Senior Bowl... I doubt he goes that high.

If we fall in love with him, we can use one of our extra 4th and two extra 5th round picks to move up to get him.

<p class="">Garoppolo con't- "hopefully I can learn a thing or two from them throughout the week and put that in my arsenal."

Greg hardy in FA

Sammy Watkins 1st round

Garopollo in the 2nd
Being in LA, I missed the dang game. Where's Kodiak when you need him? How did the young man do today? Notice any strengths and weaknesses? I know he has one of the quickest releases in college.

he was the most impressive QB on the field, but that's not saying much.

his biggest asset is his quick release.  He had an absolutely horrible throw (and decision) late in the 4th quarter though which made Mayock kind of scratch his head.  Did well, but didn't wow anybody either.

I don't know why Mayock wants to hold that throw against him. The game was basically over. Who cared at that point? I figured he was just trying to show off his arm strength.
Better arm than I originally thought.

see......that's the other knock on him other than weak competition.....poor arm strength......he was trying to show off that he could throw long

Can you please show us who has said he has poor arm strength? I have seen at least a dozen breakdowns of Jimmy, and not one has said anything but an above average arm at worst.

Not necessarily saying they aren't out there, I just haven't seen them and they would most definitely be in the minority of opinions.

Yeah, I've read it a couple of times. Poor was to harsh a word maybe. Let me quote what I read in an article after today's east-west game. Source is Scott Polacek at Bleacher Report. It was a good write up:

"The only real concern is that Garoppolo doesn't have the speed on some of his throws to fit the ball through tight windows he will face at the NFL level."
Regardless of what QB they take, I want 2 brought in this offseason.
