The first 8 games we played the majority of top teams.  So made us look worse then we actually are.

With the vast tangible and intangible improvements the Jaguars have made since their bye,  I think the optimism level amongst most Jaguars fans is going to be higher in 2014 than in many years.

With the unpredictable nature of the upper part of most drafts,  the winning that the Jaguars are achieving and the confidence that the young promising players on the team are gaining exceeds going into the draft with a higher pick.

While Gus Bradley isn't going to be voted NFL Coach of the Year,  Bradley and his staff are doing a great job.  Three straight road wins is something most NFL teams don't achieve in a season.   That by itself is one heck of an accomplishment in this league.

Or now we're paying literally the worse teams, making us look better than we actually are.

In that span we played the Rams and Raiders and still looked like crap
Fisch is also calling better plays

The one to Ace on the sideline that was called illegal formation was a play stolen from the Seahawks. We used it once before, but this time it was flagged.

The 49ers also ran it against us at Wembley. We used it the first game after the bye

I'm not sure why it was flagged this time. Seems like a neat lil cheat play, Gus looked confused by the flag too as we've seen it done several times.

You really needed to ask?  He's desperately working on his list of excuses as to why winning is bad.

To the point of the topic, all most were asking for when the season started was to see this team becoming better and improving as the season progressed.  Since the bye week, we've seen exactly what we have been asking for, and I for one am quite happy to see the team starting to get production from the new Jaguars.

If it costs us the first pick, so be it.  I'm not sold on Bridgewater as the savior for this franchise, so I think it actually helps this team by taking the pressure of that first pick off the table.  They'll get a QB who can help this franchise.

It's clear after watching Caldwell's guys as they've progressed, he has far more of a clue about how to do his job than some here thought. It wasn't that long ago they were trashing the guy for trading Monroe, but even with Joeckel on IR, the line has improved overall, and we may have identified a long term solution at RT.   Fixing that interior line will probably see at least 1 free agent grab for sure, as they're going to do whatever is necessary to address that for the new QB.

The play of our secondary, which had a few choice posters here declaring some of the new additions busts after a handful of games, continues to gel, and we're now seeing the draft picks and other acquisitions proving they're a vast improvement over what we had here a year ago.

Even the much maligned defensive line is starting to become more effective than they were earlier in the year, which is encouraging.  If we get a pass rush guy and continue to add depth there and at LB, this team is in great shape moving forward on the defense.

I like the fact that this team is clearly playing hard for Gus, and you can see they're really buying into his message, again, much to the chagrin of a poster on this board who continue to say Bradley wasn't a good hire (after having him on their list of strong candidates to consider).  Anyone who has had an opportunity to hear this guy in person, or to watch how this team has progressed and remained positive through some particularly ugly football and difficult times knows that the Bradley hire was the right one for this team.  He gets rave commentary from the national talking heads for his positive approach, and most act as if this is some foreign concept. It's obvious the players are responding.  In an appearance on the Gus Bradley Show prior to the start of the game, Cyprien repeatedly commented about how Gus' message resonated with the guys in the locker room, and it pushed them to play harder to accomplish more.

We're not a complete work yet by any means, so there are bound to be stumbles, but the arrow is pointed upward for this team, and the trajectory for this rebound could be faster than many think.  If we get it right with the QB, and we fix the OL, I can see this team giving the competition fits next year.

I think the officials said Ace left the field, and didnt re-establish himself by crossing the numbers, therefore an illegal substitution.

I thought that's what we've been doing and what opponents have been doing *shrug*

No, it gets called a "hideout" play. A player leaves for the sideline but does not exit the field and just hopes to blend in with the players behind him. Therefore that's legal
Anyone denying the improvement is real is pushing an agenda. The push on the line alone is day and night, not to mention the turn around on the offensive line. After the bye this is a completely different team and that's a good thing to see, before the bye there wasn't much to be positive about. Forget the wins and losses they didn't even look like a NFL team.

I liked how Fisch got Ace involved in creative ways. Hope that continues.

This  team is gonna be electric with Johnny Manziel (picked in the 2nd round) at QB.

... facing Fitzpatrick - Keenum - Weeden sure does help.

Ace definitely needs to see more involvement, hell to me he deserves the OW tag more than what Denard does. Loved the fake to mojo then pitched it out to Ace, he has the speed to get the edge and if need be im sure he can make the 1st tackler miss. I'm glad to see the jags finally putting it all together, this defense is definitely a pass rusher away from being a force to fear.

.... I do have to admit crossing midfield before halftime sure does feel good.  it really is hard to believe just how bad this team was just over a month ago.

You're right, it's 11 v 1 not 11 v 11 ....

Yep.   Remember when it seemed like we'd never score two touchdowns in a game?
