Apparently there were half empty beer cans inside his car, and he was pretty hammered during the sobriety test.

Half empty beer cans?  Well he should be locked up for alcohol abuse.

It's shows that it might not just have been an afternoon at the bar with the boys and a couple of drinks while watching the game, then he decides to drive home. It may have been that this dude was slinging beer while driving as if he was drinking his morning coffee. Either way, its his life, and luckily no one else was hurt. Can you say wake up call?

Years ago at the poles(local surf spot) there was a decent break going and Deegan shows up, paddles out and immediately japs a wave and drops on a dude. Now understand that Deegan is a kook and should be showing some respect in this environment. Dude paddles over to Deegan and female dog slaps him in the surf. Deegan went in and did not say or do anything. It was quite funny. Ever since then I have laughed basically every time I have seen him.

Anytime you start off by saying "Not trying to".....you are just about to.

 

Just like "No offense", or "I don't want to come across as mean but..." Just because you start off the sentence with something like that doesn't give you carte blanche to say whatever you wish. It makes for good MB entertainment though I will have to say.

well don't know how else to share the information. like I said he's been known to have a drinking problem so it's not a real shock.

I used to work with a guy who has been a successful professional surfer in events around the world. He told me one day he was surfing the poles and Deegan was there. They discussed current weather conditions, which included a hurricane that was passing well east of the North Florida coast, and how they were affecting the surf. I forget the details, but my ex-coworker said he had it all wrong, basically the exact opposite of what was really happening.
