Quote:I only know because I was one too lol. I've had time to normalize though. Now if only the Jags and Blake Bortles would quit causing me to drink I could get on with my life.

When the Jaguars start winning on a regular basis you will still be drinking - for the opposite reason.
As far as the INTs go he has had an abnormal amount of passes go right through his Wrs hands /chest and end up getting picked.

The ones off the foot are just painful.

That said the argument could be made that some of the tip picks have been due to him throwing behind receivers allowing trailing defenders to make a play.
Quote:His past 5 weeks so been pretty darn good. 89 QB rating
5 weeks ago was the Titans game, where Blake was utterly godawful yet wound up with a good statline due to massive garbage time.

I know you would like us to forget trivial details like that.

A-men.

Blake has been mostly very bad this year.

The titans game is the perfect example of his play this year.  Deceivingly good numbers with terrible real QBing.

Brett Favre career 188 Wins 1 SB

Blake Bortles career 10 Wins

Eli Manning career 105 Wins 2 SB's

Dan Marino career 147 Wins

Peyton Manning career 186 Wins 2 SB's

Drew Brees career 129 Wins 1 SB

This is all that matters right here.  Spacecoast is so delusional, and he will stop at nothing to defend his buddy Blake.
Spacecraft is Blake.

.
I'd love to see how well Bortles played with Hackett at OC day 1
Quote:Bortles INT % Per Year

2014- 3.6 %

2015- 3.0 %

2016- 2.9 %

Brett Favre career INT %- 3.3%

Blake Bortles career INT % - 3.2% (and improving)

Eli Manning career INT %- 3.1%

Dan Marino career INT %- 3.0%

Peyton Manning career INT %- 2.7%

Drew Brees career INT %- 2.5%

FYI, His 2.9% INT rate this year is actually very good.

Could you break down his INT % into 2 categories...#1 when it matters (critical point in a game) and #2 when it doesn't?

If you want to use win/loss records as evidence for a QB's success, you don't watch any games. There are over 50 players on the field every week.

Some of our losses this year were on him more than anybody. The QB has the football in his hands more than any other player on the team. You honestly think Bortles has executed at a high enough level with at least 50% of his snaps? I don't. He threw two picks in the GB game. Both of those lead to points. He had the ball gifted to him in the BAL game. He gifted it right back to them. He laid a stinker in SD. He finally played a turnover free game in week four in London against IND. The CHI game was pretty ugly overall but we won it. Threw another pair of INT's against OAK. Played like garbage against TEN in the first half. The whole team did there though. That's the first time I really saw how it was for the roster.

Saw the team let us down again in KC with the turnovers overall. Back to back weeks of Pick Six's in DET and home at HOU ended up being the difference on the scoreboard when the game ended. He played mistake free in BUF but he also gave us his lowest passing output for the year in a single game by only completing 50% of his passes which is garbage and only racking up 126 yards through the air. So, a lot of us have been watching the games this year. And out of the 11 contests so far it's easy to see he's cost this team at least four wins by his own poor performances.

Sure it is a team game, but only the starting QB and the HC are the ones who actually get the Ws and Ls attached to their names and that is how they are ultimately judged, for better or for worse.

W/L records and stats standing alone, might not tell the whole story, but together, they are pretty close to summing up a QBs success or failure.

Oh cmon! You're better than that!

How many of those 50 players touch the ball every single play they are on the field?

There is a reason QBs get paid more than everyone.

Here is a list of NFL Qb wins and win %.

Feel free to find Bortles and see the other names around him.

In 40 Games Bortles has 1 more win than Blaine Gabbert.

Now I know why they call you an "amateur".....because your posts prove you are.

So let me get this straight......

Blaine Gabbert had Maurice Jones Drew in his BEST season ever 1,600 yards.......

And Blake Bortles has Toby Gerhart and TJ Yeldon.......

And Bortles throws for 40-50 more TDs.....

hahahahahaha Give Blake a 1,600 running back and see what happens.

You people are hilarious.
Drew Brees don't have a 1600 yard running back. Tom Brady dont. Etc.

Still waiting on those first half numbers.

I need to find one of those mini Nintendo throw back consoles. Thanks for reminding me
BB's been bad but so has the rest of the offense.  When your QB has half of your rushing yards you don't have a running game.  The line can't run block.  The receivers can't get open and the QB can't hit them when they are = 2-9.  There are about 3 QBs  who are good enough to overcome all of the other problems on this team and they aren't going to be here next year.

Judging QB's purely on wins is stupid

At least he's not dropping the ball to his waist

I didn't want to bring Steve Young up because invariably when you mention a hall of fame player some turd will come along to belittle the comparison, but really it's not at all unprecedented for a QB that showed early promise to find their most significant success when they finally get competent coaching.

Bortles had shown promise. I know people start talking "garbage time" which doesn't make sense, because if throwing thirty-five TDs in a season just took your team being bad enough to constantly trail in the second halves of games then lots of bad QBs would be getting near the league lead in TD passes.
