Quote:Again, who gives a poo? He will likely be gone by the time we draft our QB next year anyway.WhatWhat if he is our QB next year and we trade back to get more picks and dont take a QB in the draft?

Quote:What if he is our QB next year and we trade back to get more picks and dont take a QB in the draft? Then he would already have his first NFL regular season action.
Quote:Do you really think anything can be determined by seeing him for "a few snaps when the game is obviously decided"?Trash time in a real game is still better than a red shirt in practice. That's been the problem evaluating Gabbert, you just can't judge poise and pocket presence in practice. There's only one way to know how a guy is going to react when a DE tries to take his head off........you gotta send him out there and let a DE try to take him head off!
They see him every day in practice. Kansas City saw him every day in practice.
I still expect to see him later this year. Bradley would probably like to win a game before letting Stanzi learn on the job.
Quote:No you wont mess up henne or BG development but you could mess up Stanzi development by putting him out there to get killed ala BG his rookie season.NO. Stanzi's career is getting crushed by not playing for the Jags. What's worse: Putting him in, and maybe he doesn't do well, or never letting him play? Then to other teams, he is the guy who couldn't start ahead of Henne and Gabbert who are the two worst QB's to step on the field this year for anybody!
Quote:I can't believe you people who are saying that he must not be good because the coaches get to "evaluate" him during practice and don't play him.
Do you see the team we stroll out there with every Sunday?
Do you really think the coaches know what they are doing when evaluating players?
The reason Stanzi won't get to play EVER for the Jags (I firmly believe this) is the fact that he IS far and away a better quarterback than Henne, and Gabbert. He always has been. He always will be. But now it's a pride issue. If you wait too long, and put Stanzi in at the end of the season, then the coaches are going to look stupid for waiting so long. They know it's safer to continue the tanking process (which is in full effect) by keeping Henne and Gabbert at 1-2. They know they are terrible. The coaches know that we can't win a game with either of them. The fans know that neither of them can win (unless there is some fluke game where the defense scores touchdowns, and opposing defenses continue dropping interceptions of their own).
It's best for the coaches to just sit Stanzi at 3rd string, so he doesn't dress. And even when he does dress because of injuries, don't even play him at the end of blowouts. Just throw the starter in there against a second team defense and let him get garbage stats (or more likely, continue to get rocked by the 2nd team defense). Then, at the end of the year, Stanzi will be released, and nobody will want him because nobody is going to take a chance on a guy who sat 3rd string behind these two. So nobody gets to see if he's any good, people just assume he's bad, and we get a QB in the draft or free agency. It's happened to plenty of quarterbacks in the NFL. Heck, it happened to Stanzi in Kansas City. It's a common practice by bad coaches with too much pride.

Quote:People act like putting in a different QB in garbage time is something new.Why do so many not understand? It's NEVER like the real thing when your wearing a red shirt!
Game vs. Practice.
HUGE difference.
