I'm sure Caldwell is trembling with fear now.
Not sure who's giving him advises, but he can only improve his draft stock -- more $$$ -- if he stays another year.  I hope Jim Mora can talk some sense into him or he'll just get picked in the 3rd round by a team with an established QB.

Quote:He's meeting with agents left and right, yesterday with Jay-Z but also several others. He gone.

Jay Z managing Hundley? I guess he's got 100 problems now.
Lol Caldwell isn't going to hitch his GM career to Hundley. Don't be silly.

Quote:Who will be our first round pick?

Basically:

Head - Who we should draft.

Heart - Who you want us to draft.

Gut - Who you think we will draft.

H: Teddy

H: Teddy

G: Clowney

H. Bridgewater

H. Manziel

G. Trade Back
Anyone wanna re-do? lol.

My gut tells me that we somehow end up with McCarron on this team.
Now that we are out of the race for #1, all of the people who said Teddy Bridgewater will have to redo it.

Rather have him than Carr.
Oh well, on the bright side....if the Jags do draft Carr, we can always parody that Adam Sandler song in reference to our new QB...

Remember?....

"Piece of [BAD WORD REMOVED] Carr, We got a piece of [BAD WORD REMOVED] Carr...... that big ol' pile of [BAD WORD REMOVED] doesn't take us very far..... " Laughing Laughing

Why? We need the best quarterback available in the first round and A.J. McCarron is not that guy.
If we draft Carr, I hope he works out.  In fact whoever we draft, I hope works out.  It'd be nice to see it happen for the franchise for once.  Of course I was rooting for Gabbert to succeed.  Sadly that didn't happen.

Carr hasn't taken a snap in the NFL yet.  It's premature to say he won't amount to anything.  Who knows if Caldwell will draft him or not though.

Revised:

Head: Mack

Heart: Barr

Gut: Mack

It worked out with David Garrard. He was average, not terrible. For a while Byron Leftwich was OK, but it did not last long enough. Blaine Gabbert was the only total failure.

I wouldn't call Garrard working out.  The goal isn't average.  The goal is much better than average.
Revised again:

Head: Clowney

Heart: Teddy

Gut: Clowney

Head-Clowney

Heart-Bridgewater

Gut-Watkins
Head (should): Manziel to bring energy and playmaking to offense (but won't due to risks).
Heart (want to draft): Bridgewater to address critical need (with less risk).
Gut (will draft): Clowney will be Dave's BAP pick if available and then lesser QB in round 2.
Assuming Houston take Bridgewater and St Louis take Matthews.

The closer the draft gets the more I'm sold. The guy just looks like a prototype NFL franchise QB to me. He can make all the throws, has worked in a system with a lot of NFL looks, feels the pressure feel, seriously underrated athleticism.

I'm boarding the Bort-bus. You're all welcome to join.
