Shop Blackmon?

No.

Oklahomie is blind as a bat.
I like how you used a two game sample to dispute a two game sample.

He absolutley should not be shopped. We have a very strong receiving core that will flourish when Teddy gets here.
Blackmon is part of the solution to this teams problem. You don't trade away one of your solutions only to try again with another unproven from college.. Think about the receivers this team had in its immediate past with Coke Jones and Shimmy Shake Williams..
Ohhh, that Blackmon...   I like the one on D!

Realistically, Justin Blackmon will need expert coaching to keep him away from the kind of past indiscretions that will ruin his career if he is unable to avoid.  He still has much to learn as a player as well.

That said, he can get the job done, and I'm in his corner.  He has by far yet to reach his potential, and what he has shown already is quite good.

Quote:He isn't a top 5 or even a top 10 receiver. Last couple games hes been putting up 30 yards and dropping all kinds of balls. Better QB play won't help drops. Shop em' around and see if you can get a 1st rounder. (Keep em' if not)

In other news, The rookie's are getting better. Stay off of Bradley and let caldwell do his work.

He is not a top 5 receiver.  He might not be a top ten receiver, but if not, he's close.

He is playing like a guy selected in the first round, though.  So why trade him for a high draft pick just to start all over again?

Because he already has multiple strikes against him in the NFL substance abuse program.

If I could bail out and get a great pick for him I'd definitely do it. He's good, but he's one DUI or reefer away from a year suspension.

...as well as being an immature turd.
Blackmon's drop was uncharacteristic of him, and most likely would have been a TD had he kept his eye on the ball a split second longer. Doing so would have also kept up his stats as being the best WR in the game on a per game basis so far. He has a scrub for a QB, but he's easily among the best young WRs in the league, and with Reggie Wayne out he's actually surpassed the great Andre Johnson as the best WR in the AFC South. And I'm not about to take that back... have you seen Andre's stats this year? Yuck! His only challenger for this title is TY Hilton, but he edges out TY as well with virtually identical stats for the year despite playing in half as many games. There's absolutely no reason to start bashing our best offensive player.

Is this the brain injury forum?

Blackmon has been playing with a hamstring issue the last couple of weeks

The real Blackmon is on the defense.

Yeah... but if you trade him... you'll probably guarantee yourselves Teddy. I'm not okay with that.

Sincerely,

Greg Schiano

You are taking a risk either way.  At least by keeping Blackmon you know you have a very good player who still is improving.
I don't think he is bad or should be shopped, him and shorts are the bright sparks on a poor offense but people were making out like he was the second coming

Can i just add, shorts looked much better yesterday and brought in almost everything that came his way, He also looked far better in contact too which I was happy to see and hope he can keep up. I think the arm bothered him more than he let on but he looked very good even in tight coverage.

Both receivers are very good,

Blackmon has better hands and the heigher ceiling but shorts has better separation speed. If sanders and brown can continue to improve we could have something really special, browns td was a perfectly executed route

If Dez Bryant is elite then so is Blackmon.
Average WRs don't put up multiple 200-yard games. To put things into perspective, Megatron has 5 while Blackmon has 2... that's very good if you ask me.

Henne favors Shorts. I didn't see Blackmon running as many slant and post routes yesterday as the weeks prior. Henne didn't automatically dump it off to a RB / HB / TE, either. He was forced to throw deeper, and Blackmon succeeded because of it.

Blackmon has one 200 yard game, not 2, I think
