Chaulk this up to meaningless speculation resulting from that PFW article based on sheer stupidity about the Jaguars possibly trading Blackmon. Caldwell wasn't about to trade Justin. Any team would have jumped on such a trade offer, and the trade deadline has since passed.

I'm still excited as ever about Blackmon. Don't forget that he's got Henne throwing him the ball, and keep in mind how big that one drop was where he turned his head too fast. That was actually a great pass with Justin taking full credit for the extremely rare drop by him. Had he caught that, he'd have been off for a huge TD and we'd be talking about yet another monumental day for Justin with him still leading the league in every receiving category on a per game basis.

While I realize this is a hypothetical since he didn't actually catch it, I want to put into perspective what not dropping that pass probably means. Looking at the play-by-play, it's tough for me to tell exactly which one play it was, but all of the "incomplete short right" passes to Blackmon that were early enough had the team between the 25 and 28 yards lines...two of them were at the 25, so I'll go with that. In other words, I'm convinced that would have been a 75-yard TD pass added to his stats.

As it is Blackmon is still averaging over 100 yards per game, but tack on this one pass and his stats look like:  4 starts, 30 rec, 490 yards, 16.3 avg, 75T long, 2 TD. That would have left him with an average of 7.5 receptions per game and 122.5 yards per game. To put this into perspective, Calvin Johnson is averaging 6.7 receptions per game and 117.3 yards per game.

Of course he didn't catch that pass, so let me quickly point out where Justin actually stands with:  4 starts, 29 rec, 415 yards, 14.3 avg, 67T long, 1 TD...

His 103.8 yards per game ranks 3rd behind CJ and Julio Jones, and his 7.25 rec per game ranks 2nd behind Antonio Brown with 8.

Golly jee he sure sucks... he should have been traded. He will never be close to elite. (Sarcasm). Funny thing is both he and Shorts could end up with a 1000 yards this season or close to it.

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say reading comprehension is something you don't count as a strong suit, right?

Is Jag4lyfe and DewtheMathis the same person? Best friends? Delusional? Literate?
Aj Green was dropping multiple wide open passes.  I guess that means he's on the block.

Quote:Blackmon had 800 yards in his rookie year with 2 of the worst QB in football feeding him the rock.

Blackmon is on pace for an extrapolated 1200+ yard season this year, with 2 of the worst QB in football feeding him the rock.

Blackmon doesn't "need" anything, obviously....but he'd benefit from a better QB, just like Megatron has benefitted from Stafford.
Not to mention he missed 4 <--- games
In my best Jon Stewart voice...WHAT NOW M..ers....!!!!!

Ahhh dreams. Boy that looks sweet now...
wow... if I were a very talented young football player who had just been drafted by a team that has been and still is circling the drain I might want to get off of that team; but how to do it? I know...just get kicked off the team by violating the controlled substance policy and then I can get picked up later by a better team. yeah, that's the ticket...

or, perhaps this young man, albeit very talented, has a serious substance abuse problem; there were 'red flags' to that effect before he got picked up by the Jag's. I think he needs help, but once he's gotten it I'm not so sure he needs to stay on this team... there are consequences to one's actions and Justin Blackmon is going to have to deal with his. Some people just can't handle success...

He can handle success.  It's booze and drugs he has trouble with. Laughing
