We have several ways with the first pick assuming we go QB. My front runners are Bridgewater, Manziel, and Mariota.... Before I was all for brigewater but as of recently I'm liking manziel and Mariota. We need a franchise QB. Wat r ur thoughts?

Bridgewater is far superior to any other QB that will be in this draft.

And Manziel is garbage. The children sure do love him though.
I hate all of the Mariota talk because he has not even expressed interest in declaring for the draft this year. People seem to assume just because he is draft-eligible, he will. I know better than that because many players have said they will stay in school after months of speculation they will declare. Why don't people just wait until he declares, or at least says he will declare? Until I get that word directly out of his mouth, I am not even going to think about him as more than Oregon's starting quarterback.

I also don't understand how Manziel can be eligible a year after being named "the first freshman to win the Heisman Trophy." That must mean this is his second season as a college quarterback, right?

I only watch games because I care about who wins, not to scout the best players, so I don't know anything about them that is not posted here.

I would be happy with either at this point but id put Mariota as a hair line leader I love his athletism, decision making and this short route accuracy, still need to work on footwork and long ball but that's coachable. Bridgewater, I love the guy but for some reason I'm not overly impressed like everyone else, i mean love his accuracy and passing ability but he doesn't really have the zip on the ball wen he throws kinna seems like the ball floats a lil wen he throws it, again also catchable and he is the most nfl ready QB. As far as Johnny it could go either way, he reminds me of a smaller faster Big Ben with his ability to extend plays and turn a dead play into a big one, at the same time he also kinna reminds me of Tim tebow.

Jus because Mariota didn't declare doesn't mean as jaguars fans we cant scout or express our thoughts on him. If he did enter the draft he would be a top 5 pick so I don't see why not. Also players that woulda been a top pick and went back to college then had a bad year and get drafted in the 4th instead of the 1st (Matt Barkley)... As far as Johnny, hes a redshirt sophomore so he's eligible and he will declare, trust me.
Teddy is the #1 QB prospect in this draft. Everything you want in a QB prospect except he's not overly athletic...but he's still ok there too. Easy #1 pick potential.

Mariota is #2 and not too far behind Teddy. People on here that claim he would suck in any system besides one Oregon runs are just naive and unable to scout pro traits from anyone not playing in a 'pro style' system. He's not Teddy, especially from a pre snap dissection standpoint, but he is truly a franchise QB prospect and if/when he improves his game mentally he could surpass Teddy because his athleticism, height, lightning quick release put his ceiling a bit higher.  If he declares he is a top 5 pick.

Manziel...yikes...one of those types that you have to love or hate not really much inbetween. It's true that he has improved substantially from last year, but his glaring weaknesses are still there and to put your eggs in his basket takes an enormous leap of faith on many levels. He still loves to take off scrambling from perfect pockets a dozen or more times a game, something that will get him punished in the NFL. He is small and doesn't protect his body when he does scramble, which leaves him open for big hits a la Vick/RG3, which will almost assuredly lead to big injuries just like those two...and he is already very close calls from a disastrous knee and shoulder injury. Finally, his decision making is still very subpar. Far too many dangerous...downright stupid...throws that often work in college because he has Mike Evans and a few other very good WRs. If you reign all 3 of those problems in then he has shown some nice quarterbacking skills, but you have also lost what makes him 'Johnny Football' and that package is just ok and nothing special either. Overall, day 2 grade from me and should go late round 2/early round 3...but he'll probably go round 1 because the state of NFL quarterback is so poor. He should really stay in school another year though.

I agree a lot of wat u said here. Bridgewater is the best nfl ready as of now. The only reason I did put Mariota is for the same reason, I think he has a higher ceiling; if he gets the long ball down and footwork in check, then watchout! N yes I do feel the same about Johnny to a certain extent, his decision making it a bit poor and he does take hits but he has big play ability and can extend plays. Johnny should stay in school but I doubt it, he's already goin to clubs, chillin with rappers, and sitting front row in nba games. He wants that on a daily basis.

I was off Manziel until just the past few weeks. I have warmed to him. I have always liked him as a college player, I love his fire and passion. His play this year just gets better and better. He is doing more out of the pocket for me that I like. The off season stuff doesn't bother me a bit.

I've been highest on Bridgewater for the longest and on the Mariota bandwagon for a couple months now too.

Bridgewater is the best Quarterback in the 2014 draft. If you want to Jaguars to have the most success, you want this team to draft Bridgewater. Period.

It is one thing to be the best quarterback in the draft. Being the best quarterback for Gus Bradley's system is another story.
Why are we still having this debate. Last year the 2012 draft should be an eye opener for all. The qbs that you see successful i.e Russell, Luck and Tannehill somewhat came from pro style offenses in college. The qbs that you see struggling RG3 and too a lesser extent Kaep (who has Harbaugh so that should alleviate some struggles) were spread option qbs. It is as clear as day who the #1 qb is unless you are caught up on Kiper and McShay who are absolute shrills at their job. Teddy Bridgewater is the best qb in this draft and will be remembered in history as such. Manziel is arguably better than Mariota simply because he does more in the same style of offense.

FYI Colin Kaepernick is missing MIchael Crabtree. He was a lot more consistant before Crabtree tore his Achilles tendon during preseason. He also was a second-round pick, so you can't use him as an example of why Teddy Bridgewater should be #1 overall.

Robert Griffin is struggling because he is still recovering from surgery for ACL and LCL tears. He had a phenomenal rookie season.

Of course Andrew Luck ran a pro-style offense - JIm Harbaugh played in the NFL, so you would expect him to bring it to Stanford. But he also was the best quarterback in the draft.

I am not paying attention to Kiper and McShay, but I am not paying attention to Bridgewater either.

And what system is that? Getting your butt kicked every week? Teddy is going in any system and seeing as how we don't run a spread offense, I am sure we will go with Teddy and not the gimmick that is Mariota.
In case anyone is interested, ESPN has an article with Kiper and McShay debating whether or not this QB draft class is an "all timer". You need insider though. It's on the front page.

I told you guys.  It happens every year.

Like Geno last year?

And who did Luck have???? Russell Wilson????

RG3 is overrated, stop bringing him up in discussion because it is a mute point. His knee is at least functional enough to throw off of and he overthrows wide receivers, there were games were he flat out misses pass reads to wide open players. He is a scrub. Kaep has Harbaugh who is bringing him along slowly but when you have a run game like they have and Vernon Davis you should be doing a lot better job of throwing the ball.

People said they weren't paying attention to Luck either...
Quote:Like Geno last year?
Is that a lie? As far as I am concerned he is, no other qb in that draft has come remotely close to sticking out

LOL @at atburg and his Geno-hate obsession.

You are absolutely clueless.
