Do people realize that in Blackmon's last 7 games he's not been held under 6 catches or under 58 yards. Those are the minimums, and that shows consistency. Something Bryant lacks.

....and this is with Gabbert & Henne at QB.

Imagine if we even had Romo, let alone a Bridgewater...

Oh, wait, you were being serious.

You obviously have never seen Gordon play. Its cool.

No, I've seen Gordon play, several times.

I get it, he's faster than Blackmon in the 40. Ergo, he better, to you....

LOL,...maybe you've never seen Blackmon play... Laughing

I think he has a ton of potential too...and would benefit from a QB.
Its funny when you think about it....

Look at how good Blackmon has been in COLLEGE and the PRO's.....and all this entire time, he's had 100% poop at QB throwing him the ball, and yet he still puts up monster numbers....

But all certain people can do is nitpick over stuff that apparently does not matter.

I'll say it right now....

Blackmon will be the first 2000 yard WR in the NFL if the Jags can get him a Bridgewater or equivalent level QB.

Kinda ironic that his college QB is now Gordon's QB.

Yep, and it didn't slow Blackmon down, did it? ....yet it is a hinderance to Gordon....but somehow he'd rather have Gordon..

Actually he ran a slower 40 than JB. He doesnt play like it though, and hes 3 inches taller.

Sorry youre impressed by WRs making plays against busted coverages.

How about this, you tell me how to mute people on this new board and we can just mute each other and be in peace?

That's a bold one.. I think a better QB would spread the ball around more.. might hurt his chance a bit but its possible.

So, Blackmon has done all he has in college and the NFL all on busted coverages.....lolz....

A better QB would spread it more, but keep more drives alive, and pass it more, giving Blackmon more total opportunity.

If you extrapolate Gordons stats his rookie year he puts up pro bowl numbers. Of course if you extrapolate Blackmons numbers this season he's close to 1600 yards.
What Jinjo doesn't seem to get is Blackmon has graduated to the point where he's making it look easy out there. I don't think the busted coverages that Blackmon benefited from are all just dumb luck. Blackmon simply knows how to get open and find/ create space. He's practically uncoverable one on one.

Back to my original point that you don't have to be fast to (potentially) be elite.

If you extrapolate Blackmon's stats over the course of 16 games you're looking at 2,048 yards on 133 catches. No he's not gonna keep that pace up but it's certainly more impressive than Gordon.

and.....if you look at Blackmons ridiculous production in college, the above stats don't seem as unattainable.

Hence, my prediction of Blackmon being the first 2000 yard receiver if the Jags can get a top flight QB.
Some wide receivers need elite speed because their hands aren't that good, they're not good at catching contested balls or very good at route rubbing.

Blackmon has all those things and those he's fast not elite fast but fast he can get his yards after catch defenses by his high stepping..his strength etc.

Jb is fast enough to get where he needs to be in the time it takes to throw that's all he needs.

I agree with TMD if we get a good enough qb and a good enough WR to compliment Blackmon he really can push 2k yards.
And for all those people that think elite speed makes you a good player in the Nfl.

How are those UF 'speed kills' receivers doing?

Quote:I didn't need stats; if you watched Justin play at Ok State it was easy to see he was one of the most dominant receivers in college football history.
